My friend just called.  We are having beautiful, cooler weather and she is heading down for the cabin to ride for a few days and  asked me to go.  Guess who can't go right now because she has six horses to take care of!  Rats, rats, and triple rats!  I have not been since May!!  I'm seriously considering calling her and telling her I will leave early one morning, ride and come home -- but that may be too much for me - I'm not as young as I used to be.  It would be about a 2.5 hour drive down, riding and 2.5 hour drive back.  This is killing me.

Well, I know I shouldn't complain -- I'm blessed to own a horse, have a great place to keep him and to even have someone who has a place to go and ride like that. It's just we can't seem to get our schedules in sync. BTW, she just got back from her daughter's and has a new grandbaby boy!

I'm sorry I wish I could come help ya look after your horses but I think I would be more trouble than help I would have no clue what to do! And 2 1/2 hrs. each way? I don't think I would even want to do that... That plus riding would be very tiring!

Jan, I wish I lived near you. I'd love to help with your horses.
Is it possible to get a day off, have someone else watch them and then you could have a quick get away?

Ah, y'all are so sweet!  No, I would not feel comfortable getting someone else to care for  them, since they have been left in my care.  Stacey has some pretty nice horses - and then of course there's my love,Choo!  I haven't completely ruled out a day trip -- could leave around 7 a.m. - get there at 9:30ish, ride for a while, load up around 3:30 and be back by 6:00.  That would not be so bad -- we would not do a super hard ride.  A lot depends on what they find out tomorrow about my truck, too.  I may not have it for a few days.  Well, whatever.  I will have lots of opportunities to ride in the fall.
