Coated Carrier? I guess that means she carries the hairless gene, even though she has a coat?

Look at those precious babies! How can you stand to see any of them go to their new homes?

That is exactly right. Her momma is a hairless and her daddy is a rat terrier. Crossing the 2 varieties is still allowed at this point so that the gene pool may be enlarged... Isn't she a doll though?

She is very pretty. I'm a little partial to the tri-Tuxedo coloring.
Would all of her offspring have the possibility of being hairless, or would she need to be mated with a hairless?

Thanks Sarah,

To get hairless puppies from Socksey, she would have to bred to another coated carrier or a hairless and then they still might not all be hairless but they would all still be considered AHT's because they would/could carry the hairless gene.

We are VERY partial to the full color coat patterns too... you'll see we have several ..lol. We have black and tans, tans, blues and a blue fawn in the full color coat patterns. hee hee

Thank for looking at our site. We work hard at trying to make it informative  We now know the way we got our start was ALL wrong really.  We learned a lot about that first dog, MIssy who still keeps my feet warm at night..lol, we researched her and her breeder. We were lucky that she did not come from a broker but instead from a local lady and man that were getting divorce and had to do something with the puppies right away.  I would hate to think that could have supported a broker.

Educating the public, IMO, is so very important.  Public education is how , again JMO, we can stop puppy mills. It's people like me and my hubby were, that keep the puppy mills in business. My family bred dog of some sort my whole life, hounds, Australian Cattle Dogs and now me in Rat Terriers and AHT's, but, we were still ignorant about puppy mills and brokers. The 2 (brokers and puppy mills) IMO go hand and hand. One washes the other...OOPS sorry got on my soapbox.

Anyway.. thank you and everyone for looking at our babies and letting me rant. We are so proud of our babies We may just be kennel blind but we think they are pretty special.

LOL.. if thats Hootie in the picture?? it looks like he has ditched you for kittens..lol ...I love it. We had a momma (Rat Terrier) steal a litter of kittens when she was nursing her babies and nursed them too. Dogs are amazing.

I know that some would think me strange but I love the hairless babies! And the adults. I am finnishing my college this year for my AA degree, it is really going to happen and I am not going to change my major again! Next year I will be looking for a hairless female or a hairy hairless female. My pack right now is just about keeping me hopping with the kids and school too I am running hopping. But one more year and I will be able to get Robert to agree to another pup.

As to the puppymill and broker stuff, we all make mistakes Darla, the important thing is we learn from our mistakes how to keep from making the same one over again. It isn't always easy! We too started out by supporting a puppymill with our first rattie, Mysty. She is a wonderful pet, but that isn't what we had in mind when we bought her. I think that finding Renae at Sunset Acres helped us see what nice ratties looked like and gave us a different point of veiw to see. As a result I have the Fire mtn. lines and am glad of it.

Your pups are lovely and I am really looking forward to when I will be able to get more myself!

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!
