First, bless you for your service to our country. Second, welcome to the site - we hope you will stay after you get your puppy so we can watch him/her grow with you.
This is a good place to come for help -- I don't know of a puppy off-hand, but this is a good resource. We will all try to help you find your new puppy, so keep us posted on your progress!!

In the meantime, do you have any pictures of Hannah?  We love pictures and would love to see and hear about Hannah!

Welcome to the site and definitely a big thanks for all you are doing over in Iraq. I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help you in your search for a pup. Where will you be returning to? Maybe we can help you find one in your location so shipping will not be an issue.

Welcome! Thank you for protecting us and bless you for not insisting that your ex's sister return your baby.
I don't know where you live, but I found a few places that had free, or almost free ratties. However, they were not willing to ship to me, so I ended up having to go with a breeder. I'd be happy to help your search the internet, just let me know

I am returning to Houston, Tx.

I loved this site as soon as i logged on. I love rat terriers and am stuck on this breed. Hannah had a wonderful personality and was a great companion. She knew how i felt at all times and she was such a wonderful person to come home to every night. She loved car rides and took trips with me all the time... She loved being dressed up and would prance around like she knew she was cute. I will post pics of her tomorrow with and with out her clothes. She would go running with me and sometimes she would just lay in the shade while i ran.  Although she never really liked the dog purse thing she loved to be held and carried. If i was walking her i never needed a leash because she listened and would stay close... even in the apartment she would be under my feet. She is a wonderful dog and i look forward to getting another girl... i would love chocolate or honey... but i fall in love with all of them so i know it will be easy to pick one out. I want a puppy with a great personality like hannah... she was like my daughter. And when i come home i have 90 days off and i would love to spend that with my new puppy as she grew!!

There is someone on here that just had puppies and they had three females that were sort of honey -- let me try to get my brain in gear and I'll post the link. She had pictures on here - two males and three females. Does anyone else remember? I'm having a senior moment, but I WILL find it!

Okay, found them - here's the link to the post

I was wrong -- only two of the females are brown/white, but aren't they cute!  I'm not sure where they are located - they are about 5 wks old -- it's a start to finding your new baby!

Welcome and a Big Thank You for your service. Hannah sounds like she is a wonderful dog. It's too bad you can't keep her when you get home. With all the resources on here it will be fun to see you get a new dog that can fill that void. This is a great site and I'm glad you found us. You will not be dissappointed, this is a great group willing to give any help you need, we'll be happy to help. You'll probably have so many options by the time we're done, you'll be shaking your head. Glad you want a rattie, have you thought about a rescue and would you be interested???

Rescue are dogs that are in shelters for one reason or another. Ratbone Rescues is a a great organization that works to pull these dogs from kill shelters. They go to foster homes where they are evaluated to see what personalities they have (good with children, other dogs, cats, etc) Karen (JRT_RT_MOM) is a foster mom in Oregan. It is a great organization. Here is a link to the website for RR:

http://www.ratbonerescues.com/

The dogs can range in age from puppy to adult.
Also, there are usually puppies that show up on here -- did you see my link to one of our members that just had puppies.
You will have no problem finding a new little girl -- the problem will be choosing which one!

I saw Hannah - she is a sweetie. Karen could answer any questions you might have about Ratbones. My philosophy is every puppy or adult dog out there needs a loving home . . . . wish I could take every one of them in need!

Brittany, I"m from Houston too!
I know that there are a lot of shelters with rattie puppies here that need to be adopted. I dunno about chocolate terriers tho! Also, I think the breeder whom we got Nibbler from is expecting another litter pretty soon. He has beautiful well tempered ratties
