Ok.. so i'm supposed to be doing this WONDERFUL thing helping pull 2 female ratties (they can be viewed on petfinder.com under texas - mansfield animal shelter) - and get them vet checked, shots, heartworm test and put on a plane to foster homes out of state since we have none here.... or at least any that are not full... soooo communication is so slow, they finally got funding for the plane tickets (i didnt realize there was not funding - talk about stress - can you imagine me pulling these dogs and having no where to take them!! ) then i call the number she gave me and find out that delta does not have cargo flight from dfw to washington.... so now i'm freaking out.. plus they want me to charge the vet bills up front and they will pay me back... i have NO money to pay it if they dont so i'm stressing out there..., on top of it all i'm doing this behind my hubbys back because he would say no to me driving hour and half to pick up the dogs, run them around then another hour to an airport.... someone just tell me i'm doing the right thing please - i'm starting to panick and feel depressed - i think i have gotten in over my head :-( ugh..... i want to puke :-( I cant have them exposed to cali because she has not gotten vaccines -she starts saturday but it will be done in several sessions to lessen the impact on her compromised system. one up thing... she is soooooooo soft and starting to grow hair :-) except had talk with hubby and he was concerned i was getting to attached to her :-( why is it something ment to be good can start out so innocent and simple and end up so overwhelming and out of control.... |

Oh, I am so sorry! Okay, deep breath. You have done so many wonderful, wonderful things for so many animals. I can tell that you want to save them all and you just can't. (I say this with love, please know that I totally feel for you on this.) My experience is that any time I have to do something behind my husband's back, it's not worth it. What would he say if he knew about all of this? Don't ruin your relationship...he has to be a bigger priority than all of these pups. I had so hoped he would change his mind about Cali/Daisy... you have to eventually let her go. I hope I don't sound awful... I know you're having a hard day, I don't want to make it worse. ((hugs)) You are doing a great thing by helping these animals...maybe it's getting so complicated because it's being done secretly. Okay, another deep breath... is there any other way to get these pups transported without you having to foot the bill? I would definitely talk with your husband before you go any further. I think the stress is mostly from his not knowing. ((hugs again)) I really hope you don't take this wrong...it's just easier seeing someone's stuff before your own... a fresh perspective sometimes helps. I hope I have and didn't upset you. |

I agree with Shannon. It's a fantastic thing that you've done for Cali/Daisy and I understand that you want to do more, but it's not worth risking your marriage/family over. You really can't save them all by yourself and having to keep everything secret is going to make it very difficult and not the joy it should be. We can only each try to do our part when & where we can.
Take care, Robin, and let us know how it works out.

| I'm sorry it's getting so complicated. Maybe Saturday isn't such a good day for Rhonda and I to come over. I really would understand if you've got too much going on. We can plan the meet up for another weekend. Just let me know. |

no i'm not upset by any of the advice and i totally agree .... they cant all be saved.. its just hard to say no when they are helping me find cali a home and they ask for help - i kinda feel obligated i guess. i'm not footing the bill (unless they ditch me - just fronting some of the $$)... a friend that helps financially with local rescues from time to time gave me the same advice - and is footing $150 of the vet bill. I think it would have been much easier situation if i didnt have cali still... she is still vunerable to infection, plus i have a fenced dog run but not yard... my dogs just dont take off.... my patio (with doggie door) is fenced and connected to the dog pen - so the dogs have free run from the house, patio, dog pen - but the fence is picket so any dog talleys size can go right thru it... so basically when i bring a dog into my home it is literally into my home - all the time - along with my current 4 dogs - which is very overwhelming. I'm just mostly concerned about the flight - once i know they have somewhere to go i will be fine. he knows i'm doing this transport - just not the distance and time involoved.... and he did agree to me doing one per month if i am needed.... just all the uncerntaties (sp - boy that spelling is really off!!!) anyway, NOOO WAYYY am i canceling my playdate saturday... i will work around it.... i told her flights must either be saturday night or sunday night - those are my only options.... so dont cancel on me - i'm cleaning my house tonight just for ya'll!!!! :-) plus cali will love the company.. .she loves to play.. ... this is not going to get the best of me and ya'll are my highlight of the weekend!!! I will have my dogs except the ratties inside anyway so no one gets trampled by big lab or bulldog feet :-) thanks ya'll for the advice - i know i just tried to do to much to soon - like i said i just felt obligated next time I will just say no if it is not good timing.... |

Shoot, don't go to any trouble cleaning your house just for us! If you could see my house, you wouldn't bother.
I might be bringing another puppy to our meet up. Sara (smoore) and I are trying to coordinate meeting and giving me little Emma on Saturday morning. She has had her first set of puppy shots, so it should be safe for Cali/Daisy. I'm supposed to take Emma to Nora's house on Friday to give her to her new mom and rattie brother. |

| Noooo wayy do you get to go to the big rattie meetup nora has been listing - how fun!!! that is so exciting to get to deliver the new baby also :-) very cool - yes that is fine... cali is actually doing VERY well and unless she came in contact with something nasty she should be able to fight it - she is still on antibiotics for the staff infection on her skin (dont worry it's gone - just finishing out the bottle)... and yes if you saw my house you would be glad i cleaned - with the rain the dogs have been tracking in wood shavings and mud, the dogs favorite toy is cardboard papertowl rolls so there is brown cardboard all over and our fridge died last night so we will be living out of a mini - fridge until next week at the earliest (can life get any better!!! hehe) but at least it does not take a fridge to make vodkaritas - i will have bagged ice :-) Plus i'm going to a cookout tonight so cant promise sparkly clean house but tolerable house :-) cant wait to see ya'll saturday... |

You're doing something wonderful. I know it's stressful right now - anyone would be stressed - but you're doing a great thing.

YOU have been my inspiration and I can't wait to get another one. Girl, you're gonna NEED some extra leaded juice Sunday morning!! BTW, have a GREAT time visiting tomorrow!! |

Bob doesn't willingly go into water. He thinks he's very delicate. |

ok i will pass on it then.... i did see a cute recipe tho for a dog frozen treat,.... you take a old ice cream plastic circle container, fill it with water and dog bones as it is starting to solidify... and they have a licking block to cool down and treats inside!! how fun.. :-) too bad my fridge is broken - hehe.. maybe next time. course my luck a dog would get its tounge stuck and torn and we would end up at animal emergency room to have it sewn back on! |
