This morning I was chanel surfing on the radio, which down here means a whole lot of country stations. I settled on one and in a few seconds the song, one of Carrie Underwood's ended. The DJ came on and mentioned that she had a dog named Ace and he now has his own web site.
THEN he said, "Ace is a chihuahua, I think". I was apalled that this man did not know that Ace is a Rat Terrier, so I got out the phone directory and found the radio station. Fortunately it is a station in Fayetteville, NC. I dialed the number listed and was told by a very snooty receptionest that I had to dial the direct to the DJs line. Got that number and dialed. First couple of times, I got a busy signal.
Finally, my call went through and the very same DJ as the one on the radio answered!! I asked him if anyone had called in to correct him about Ace. He asked me correct about what? I said, "Ace is not a chihuahua, he is a Rat Terrier" and then gave him a short little burb about ratties. Sort of along the lines of American breed, small compact, bred to get rid of any critters or varmints in the barn, hay bales, horse feed etc.
The DJ laughed and said in a sarcastic way, "Well I doubt Carrie's bus has any varmints in it." That riled me so I fired back, "you bet it doesn't, she has a Rat Terrier to keep them away and to catch any who try to climb on board."
Well that got a laugh out of him and he thanked me for calling.
Oh well, whether he said anything on air or not, I don't know but I personally felt better! Now I am off to find Ace's web site |
