| Sorry.... I'm not familiar with the NC area, but I would do a Google search for agility venures in your area and see what you come up with. Don't rely a lot on how high a dog can jump, because it's not about how *high* they jump but it's more about how accurately they jump. Bailey measures 12-1/2 inches at the withers and the AKC jump height for him is 12 inches. He can jump MUCH higher than that, but it's not safe for him to do so repeatedly. It's very hard on their joints. So if you want to practice with Chance... start low and work up to about 12 inches and no higher. |

Distance isn't really a factor. You want the jump (the bar) to be no higher than whatever the regulation height for your dog is, and that's based on what he measures at the withers. You can build them with PVC pipe .. they aren't hard to make. Or.. you can start with a hoola hoop. |
