I have to make a Halloween dessert for a Chili Cook off here at work. This was kind of funny but it looks so gross. It sounds okay though, would you eat this??

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
  • 2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 (12 ounce) package vanilla sandwich cookies
  • 3 drops green food coloring
  • 1 (12 ounce) package tootsie rolls
  •

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to package directions (any size pan).
  1. Prepare pudding according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble.
  2. Crumble sandwich cookies in small batches in a food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup add a few drops of green food coloring and mix.
  3. When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with 1/2 of the remaining cookie crumbs, and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, you want the cake to be just moist, not soggy.
  4. Line kitty litter box with the kitty litter liner. Put cake mixture into box.
  5. Put half of the unwrapped tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until softened. Shape the ends so that they are no longer blunt, and curve the tootsie rolls slightly. Bury tootsie rolls randomly in the cake and sprinkle with half of the remaining cookie crumbs. Sprinkle a small amount of the green colored cookie crumbs lightly over the top.
  6. Heat 3 or 4 of the tootsie rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle lightly with some of the green cookie crumbs. Heat the remaining tootsie rolls until pliable and shape as before. Spread all but one randomly over top of cake mixture. Sprinkle with any remaining cookie crumbs. Hang the remaining tootsie roll over side of litter box and sprinkle with a few green cookie crumbs. Serve with the pooper scooper for a gross Halloween dessert.

It totally makes me quesy to look at but it may be fun to make. I just don't want to bring in something nobody will eat. Honestly, I don't know if I would eat it if someone brought it into work but maybe. I need opinions, make this or stick with a pumpkin roll ......

I don't like coconut, but the turds in the pan don't look appetizing either.

The ingredients sound good. I guess I would probably give it a try! That would be fun in certain groups of people but I guess I should not make it for a church potluck! The old folks would have a heart attack about that on the table!!! I bet my kids friends would find it tasty and want all the turds!!

They made this for one of the guys my mom works with. She said it was really good, but he's a 19 year old boy and couldn't even get his friends to eat it. He ended up taking a lot of it home. But it's supposed to taste really good.
I'd probably try it, but i'm kinda dumb like that.

Ew! That's nasty! Sounds delish though. I don't think I could stomach the turds though.

Eww, reminds me of "Road Kill Kitty Cake" someone made years back for a bake sale. A kitty shaped cake with a large section out of the middle. Line the sides of the removed "gash" with licorice twists for tire treads and pour cherry pie filling in the middle...

For a Halloween party? Magnificent. I also know several people to whom I'd like to serve the real version of this, but I won't go into it.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!
