Hello,
I am a new dog mom. Well not too new, but going on 5 months now. I have always had cats, but decided it was time for a dog. We found an ad in the paper for a small dog. Living in an apartment, that was just what we wanted. We were not sure what breed she was, but went to meet the people and check her out. We showed up and they just handed her to us with all her stuff and said enjoy. I was taken aback by the fact that they didn't know us but were just handing this dog over. Their little girl had named her Dora. We happily took her home and had the vet check her out. After a clean bill of health and a stop at the pet store, we were on our way home. Tons of BoBos, chew ropes and Snausages later we could not be more in love. I know people with all types of dogs and I must say Rat Terriers are the best. Not too big, doesn't shiver and shake, very smart and few health issues. She has learned so much in these past few months. Unless I go to work or out shopping, she goes everywhere with me. She will turn one year old in November and weighs in at 9 pounds. She will not chew on bones, but loves chewing on carrots, so she gets those for treats. She will hide the bones, "burying" them in corner's, in shoes, and in the cat's bed. Friends with dogs come over and their dogs always find the bones and eat them. Speaking of the cat, Mr. Kitty, thinks he is a dog, so he and Dora play all the time. Wrestling, sharing water and exploring the courtyard outside. Ok, enough for this first post. I'll add some pictures.
