I was asked today if I can help this ratterrier find a forever home. Her owner is a divorced mom, her kids are all grown and the mom has started dating and does not have time to care of her ratterrier any longer. She is now wanting to find her a new home and the kids can not take her either because of where they live or other reasons. I don't have a too many details at this time but will be getting more info tomorrow. I even forgot her name... grrr

She is about 4 years old, house trained, loves people, kids and other dogs. She is not very big, and I hear that she is just a sweetheart. I was told that she is about the same size as my Molly girl. Molly is 11 pounds but thinner then this little girl. I have not seen her in person yet but she will be coming by for me to see her and get better pictures of her. These two were taken with a cell phone so I am not sure how good they will be.

I am not sure what the owner will do if she can't find her a forever home. I will try to find out, surely I would hope that she would not send her to a shelter. I feel bad for the rattie in that she will loose her owner, how confussing for this little pup. I can't take her in because I will be caring for "two" grand babies in about 7 months. So I won't have the time for additional ratties because I have Molly and still doggie sit Busta for my daughter. I just feel that with Kasey, two new borns and two ratties will be enough for me to handle without adding another rattie to my daily routine. And it would break my heart to have to re-home her if it didn't workout here.

Can anyone help in placing this little girl? I will have more details tomorrow that I can answer any questions and add additional info.

poor little sweetie I hope you can help find her a forever home. I don't care if I am single forever it is me, my kids and my dog first if someone does not like her then hit the road jack and don't come back!

She looks like a Type B/short legged rattie. That's why she's stockier than your Molly. Thank you for trying to help her.
That being said - the owner is an idiot. Why would dating prevent her from having the time to care for her dog?? She doesnt' even have the excuse of having small children to care for alone. She's a fool.

Not enough time to care for a member of your family (who is described as a "sweetheart, no less)you've had for like 4 years?  Really? I'm w/Ivy (except I don't have kids) but either way, family pets, if ya don't like it & ya aren't a dog lover, move on...My husband asked me what if Jessie (my rattie mix at the time) didn't like him or he didn't like her?  I said "you would have been out the door" and I meant it!  Good thing they loved each other

Wow. That is a ridiculous reason if I ever heard one. Hope she finds a home soon.

She looks like a sweetheart! I hope she gets a home real soon.

I agree, such a ridiculous and slefish reason. Family comes first-including furbabies.....

I know, and I agree with you all about the owner just being ridiculous. Nothing that I can control, I was just passing on what was told told to me. But I am sorry to report that I have no new news on this little girl. Today was my husbands birthday and we had a big fish fry with all of our kids. Well most of them before the night was over. Kasey is sick so that has made things hard to do. Well I am hoping for some super sales soon because I am ready to do some shopping for !!Christmas"!!

WOW, she plans on "dating" that much. Geez how much will she be charging? If she plans on "dating" that much she could afford day care.
