I've posted before how Skeeter (my horse) is a gelding but still likes bringing the mares into heat.  Well, Deb got a new gelding for beach rides and he was really a stud for the first five years of his life and sired foals.  So yesterday we were moving horses around all over in an attempt to keep the Two Studleys from being in paddocks next to any mares or next to each other (they seem to be slightly competetive, too...).  We ended up with Freddie (the ex stallion) at the top end in a paddock with electric wire, then Zip  (laid back gelding), then Skeeter, then Taco and Cupcake (Taco keeps Skeeter away from Cupcake when she's in heat.)   Plus, we were doing this fast...Deb was putting up new fence as I ran up and down switching out horses.

I'm having so much relaxed, fun riding Skeeter in the new ring and out around the new trails.  He's matured so nicely!  Well, except he won't take his eye off Freddie, the Ex-Stallion sometimes!

MB! I am just imagining all this in my mind and it is cracking me up! It was a Chinese fire drill!! I know what you mean about those studly gledings! My auntie had one and up to the day he died, he was convinced that he was "the man!!"

I'm glad you are enjoying your riding. It sounds wonderful. Even if Skeeter is keeping an eye on that arch rival!!

Hope you can get some photos of it all soon for us.

Aloha!

Oh wow. Now that's a lot of planning and situating (is that a word?). Luckily, we only have two geldings, both of which are big babies, and 3 mares. The two boys are buddies (the pet communicator says they are like bar buddies) joking around and play fighting (very much play) with each other. Now the mares, they can be b#%$)y at times. I laugh though, because when Stacey has Cheif at a show, Choo Choo has the herd to himself, but he is clueless as to what he's supposed to do with all those women! They just boss him around!
Glad you are getting to enjoy riding Skeeter so much. I plan to start back riding next week. Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
