I've seen many little Jack Russels & R/T's do the vertical hop - but it really looks funny to see a medium-sized 36 lb R/T do the same!

I bet that is funny! My jumpers are pretty small. They sound like basketballs being dribbled when they jump on the hardwood floors.

The first thing i have to do when getting home is let Libby out of her crate if not I am afraid she'd give herself a cuncussion she has a fairlylarge crate (big enough for a small German Shepard) and she just kepps bouncing banging her head on the top til we let her out

I've always wondered how these terriers can do things (repeatedly) that would seem to cause obvious pain - and yet ignore it?  One time I was playing a "chase" game with Diesel and he blew past me at high speed and took a glance back at me and ran straight into a concrete wall.  The sound of his skull smacking that concrete sounded positively horrible - but he never skipped a beat.  I called a "time-out" and checked him over and he seem fine.  I just couldn't believe he shook that impact off so easily.

Yes, Shadow jumps vertically too. He is out and of his crate and having fun when I get home from work because my daughter lets him out when she gets home from school. So by the time I get there it is like he hasn't seen me in a couple weeks. I get jumped everyday. Now after about the third jump, I catch him and we do the hug thing and I wrestle with him a little then he is fine. But the verticle jump thing is really funny.
