So little Alfy is settling in to her foster home.  She is getting a little more comfortable each day as she begins to realize she won't be sent on to "somewhere" else again. (Well, she will when she goes to her forever home but she doesn't know that yet...).

She is an excellent squirrel chaser!  She and her foster bro, Beacan, are the bestest at chasing squirrels.  They run them up trees and then bark at them.  We have a couple of squirrels in the backyard who start "yelling" at the dogs as soon as the dogs get outside...and tempting them by running around in branches just out of reach!  Alfy is hoping that one day one of those squirrels will fall and then she'll swope in for him!

Alfy the Elf loves to be snuggled and held but she's also getting more independent which is a good sign as she's too clingy.  She has encountered yogurt for the first time and also bully sticks - yum!  Alfy is also "mothering" Mayfly and Beacan - we think she must have lost some puppies at some point which is very sad.

And Alfy is the leader of the Bathroom Posse .  Every time I go into the bathroom I have a trail of dogs behind me starting with Alfy...then Mayfly, Beacan and sometimes Skipper.  Mitzy has enough sense not to want to be cooped up in our small bathroom that much!

Afly also got to ride to the next town and go to several pet stores....very scary in the stores though.  I think it reminded her of the shelter as she shivered a lot.  Next, she gets spayed on Monday....at least that will be over with for her.  She is such a totally sweet little cuddle bug.

awwwww, how sweet....

I do recall that she tried to mother my dogs....  Kasey doesn't want to have anything to do with that and Indy.... well, he wasn't sure what she was trying to do....  it was funny to watch.

She is a sweet cuddle bug...    Someone is going to be very lucky to have her.  I am thankful that we worked together to get her out of that awful place...

Mardi - getting Alfy sprung from that shelter and getting her all the way down here was an excellent example of how much we all accomplished by working together to save a rattie!
