My Rocky has a fondness for collecting my shoes. When he's excited to see me, he will carry one of my shoes off once I remove them. He will also steal my shoes if I'm on the computer or doing something else that he feels ignored by.  He only carries them around and doesn't destroy them. Any ideas as to why he does this? Thanks!

Honestly, there's never any telling what is going on inside the mind of a rat terrier...  He may be taking your shoes to keep you from leaving again.  Waylon knows that I'm about to leave the house whenever I pull a pair of shoes out of the closet.  While he doesn't steal them or chew them, he either hangs his head and hides or runs to the door in an attempt to get to go with me as soon as he sees me pick up a pair of shoes!
