An adoptee of one of my dogs, Bubba, is getting married in November and asked me to doggy sit for 2 weeks and they offered me $500!!  I don't know if I can accept that!!  Of course I'd watch my Bubbers!!  I loved that boy!!

If you are uncomfortable accepting that amount for yourself, but they are willing to give, then accept it with conditions. Take what you want, and donate the rest to ratbones, I'm sure they could help disburse the money well.

I'm sure they appreciate having a loving mom to Bubba take care of him.
Take the money and do a little something for yourself. Or just buy the doggies a special treat.
I had to pay $75.00 a day when we went on vacation. That was a feed and a walk and a bit of play time that was it.
Actually they would have to pay twice that to board him...think about that.

I would take it and splurge on yourself! All your time and money goes to rescue and you deserve to do something for yourself. This is money that you weren't expecting for doing something you love so enjoy yourself with it. Get something you wanted for the house or clothes or jewelry. something for you!

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

Reminds me of the song "Take the money and run!" LOL Seriously I would take it if they offered it. Keep what I think I should keep and then give the rest to your ratbones rescue. Sounds good to me!

After much thought, I called Bubba's mommy and told her that I really couldn't accept cash payment for watching Bubbers.  He was one of my most fav fosters, and I'll be glad to see him again, even if it's just for 2 weeks.  I did ask her, however, if she would consider buying me $500 in Ratbone Quilt Raffle Tickets and she DID!!    YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!  This way, Ratbone benefits and I have a better chance to win the quilt!!

Wow. What a great way to solve that. Sounds like you've got a lock on the quilt. But, if I win, I'm giving it to Vickie because she's so proud of Daisey's block! I think I have $150 worth -- although I may go buy more now!

I bought $125 and Bubba's Mom bought me $500 and I still lost!!    But CONGRATS to the winners!!  What matters is that the proceeds from the sales of the tickets helps the babies!!
