will be my 1st wedding anniversary!!!!! this year went by sooo fast... btwn the wedding/honeymoon and working on the house... where did the time go? we arent doing anything special... sat night we will go out to eat at a new italian restaurant my friend opened... go home and spend a romantic queit evening with our babies... we will cut into our wedding cake top... sunday we actually have a surprise 30th bday for my good friend to go to.. which kinda stinks but... thats life...
so.. anyway... 1 year down... a lifetime to go!!!! |

Congratulations.!
You have a wonderful evening planned. You could throw a little surprise in there or do a little something that will be an Anniversary tradition. Could be a special picture you like enlarged and framed or giving her a favorite flower that was in her bouquet. Anything really....
I love traditions...sorry if I butted in.

thank you everyone... we opted out of gifts this year... phew!!! i am in the middle of redoing or downstairs bath... had to gut it all, reframe and rebuild from scratch... up to sheetrock only... so $$$$ is tight... after this 2 bathrooms left and everyroom in the house is done!!!!!
so other than LOVe from each other and our babies... no gifts... |

A newly remodeled bathroom is a great gift!!! Ha ha ha. Us longer-married people know these things, LOL!!! Hubby and I spent our first years foregoing all kinds of gifts in lieu of improvements, things for the house, etc. It'll make you appreciate the "golden years" more, in my opinion  |

We've given up gifts too. Although I have to say, I still have the love note hubby wrote when we didn't have the money 32 years ago. Priceless !!!  |

thank you again... the "written" gifts are old now...
for our engagement i wrote a poem asking her to marry me... all designed nice... framed it... placed it btwn a bunch of clear marbles, rose pedals and votivs...
for valentines day following that i took those same "sentimental" rose pedals and wrote another poem... printed it on clear and placed it on a small framed mirror... put the mirroe in a shadow box, surrounded by our "engagemnt" rose pedals and stained the wood... she has both hanging in her old bedroom at her moms house.... we actually wound up duplicating that for my mom (wedding picture and wedding song), her mom (wedding song) and her sister (wedding song)... great anniversary gifts for them all.
but for now... my wife needs a break from that... the renovation would be a great gift.. but it wont be complete and my wife looks at the $$$$ being spent so it doesnt make her thrilled yet!!! lmao |

mel... trust me its not glamourous... def not trump... but its nice... High-Ranch... 2000 sq ft... 4 bedroom (1 is an office) and 3 baths... 1/2 acre lot.
it needed alot of cosmetic work... i have put in a year solid... most nights and weekends... i havent touched outisde with exception of the fence for yard. |
