First off I'm okay. I was just a little shaken up and I'm starting to get sore but other than a bruise or two, I'm physically okay. My car on the other hand may not be.
Its preety bad, I won't know how bad until tomorrow when they tow it and get the estimate, but its not driveable that's for sure. Its sitting in the mall parking lot tonight very close to where it got hit. The front is completely crunched in and the bumper and bumper cover are on the grond, my hood is crunched up and my radiator was leaking, my power stearing is shot, and my rear view mirror fell off. That's only what I can see too. I took pictures, which I will post tomorrow.
I really don't feel like dealing with this. It wasn't my fault, I was hit while turning at a stop sign. The guy coming from the other direction didn't realize I was turning and accelorated towards me. the worst part was I saw him coming but couldn't get out of the way.
Let's just hope my car isn't totaled. Its a 2001 Honda Civic and its my baby, but we'll have to see.
Just send me good thoughts. This is not going to be fun to deal with and I'm very skittish about driving, But the good thing is I'm okay and the other guy was too, and cars can be replaced. |

| Awwwwwww... Maggie. I'm elated that you are ok as that's the most important thing. Situations such as these are never "fun" to deal with, not to mention they inconvenience us beyond words. I'll be sending good vibes your way that things work out smoothly, although from the description it sounds like your car might be totalled... I hope not. Get a good night's rest tonight. You'll probably be sore tomorrow. Again... I'm so glad you are ok physically. *hugs* |

| Thanks Nora, we'll just deal with this one step at a time. I should find out in a couple days if its totalled or not, and then we go from there on what to do. The bad thing is we leave for a cruise next Monday, and I just ned to get this sorted out before then. I'll put the pictures up, but there is a good chance that car might be totalled. |

Oh Maggie! What a bummer....just glad you are alright....you'll probably feel worse tomorrow...physically.....usually takes a day or two for the aches and pains to fully set in....but hopefully it is minor and will fade soon. Cars are replaceable....You aren't! Just glad you are ok. Hope you are able to get it all worked out before your trip. The guy who hit you did have insurance right?? Take care! Hang in there! Lynn |

| the guy that hit me had insurance, he was sweet as can be, just simply an accident. he was barely 20, so he was pretty shaken up too. Ricky ended up knowing him, and he just kept appologzing. his car isn't in nearly as bad of shape as mine, but it still jolted both of us. |

Oh, Maggie! I'm so glad your okay. Sorry about your car...from the sound of it, it's worse than my car was and mine was totalled (1997 Ford Escort). I'll check out your pics. If you know an auto body guy that you trust, maybe he could help save your car if you really want to keep it. My car was taken to a friend of my brothers and he asked me how bad I wanted to save it...I didn't want to, so I think he may have inflated the repair estimate a tiny bit, just enough to make the repairs more than the car was actually worth. Honda Civics seem to retain their value better than other cars, so it might be able to be saved. Good luck. |

| I'm thankful you were not seriously injured. Warm soaking baths will help with the soreness. Cars can be replaced. You can't. |

| oh no! How scary! So sorry about the accident but I am glad you are ok. The soreness will probably get worse for a couple days. in 04 I totaled my brand new 04 Honda Civic like 2 weeks after I got it...So, unfortunately, I am thinking yours is probably totaled also. Get some rest and so sorry about your baby (car) (((HUGS))) |

| Good to hear that you're OK and so is the other driver. While you may hope that they don't total your car, it may very well be the best thing. If the frame is cracked and all kinds of other parts have taken a shot, maybe it's better not to try and revive it. |

Thanks guys, I woke up this morning and it hurts everywhere....not fun. Yeha, I looked around, and I'm afraid that car may be toast. I'm just leaving it up to the insurance people and trusting everything will work out for the best. I can get a new one if need be, I'm just not looking forward to taking on a car note. That little civic is paid off, but you roll with the punches in situations like this I guess. Right now I wish that it didn't hurt so much to move though : ( |

OMG Maggie, I'm so glad you and the other person are okay. At least no major injuries. We couldn't deal with it here if something happened to you so better if the car is toast instead of you. Kim suggested hot soaks in the tub and I agree but I think you should add some epsom salts to the water as that will help the aches and pains of bruising and being bashed around. I hope the pains go away soon and that everything gets worked out before your trip. Just take care of yourself and don't try to do much for a few days. |

So glad you are OK. Just some food for thought. Since you're experiencing soreness, I'm not sure I wouldn't have some neck xrays. Whiplash often sets in days after the event and can have "hidden" complications. If you're sorer tomorrow, you might want to visits your doctor to rule out such things with an xray. I wouldn't sign off on the insurance stating for "no injury" for at least a month, because once you do, you have cleared the offender's insurance company of paying any doctor bills that may arise. |

I totally agree.... once i got hit from some young driver, she rear ened me at the stop light! so the insurance guy called my sister in law to see how she is since she was with me, and before we knew any better, the insurance guy called her and asked how's she doing, and she said fine... then after a few hours...... her neck was sore! and then that's when we learned what that insurance guy was up to.... "grrr" So be careful....
and i'm so sorry that it happened to you.... and glad that you are okay... sorry that your car isn't... hope it can be fixed. |
