Rattitude Problem
Rattitude Problem

1.  I woke up with a sinus headache and I can't seem to get rid of it.

2.  I have breakroom duty this week, cleaning up after all the slobs I work with.

3.  I'm feeling old because of my birthday coming in less than two weeks, and it seems like a lot more people are calling me ma'am me lately.

4.  My oldest son and his fiancee have put a deposit on an apartment, so he will be officially moving out the middle of October.  I know I have griped about him not cleaning his stuff out of his room, but now it will be real.  He's grown and not coming back (I hope?).

I thought it was rough being a hormonal teenager, but I think being a hormonal middle-aged woman is worse.  I can't pitch a fit, burst into tears, and run to my room and slam the door.  No, I have to be a responsible adult and go to work.  Maybe I need to post a danger sign at my desk to warn my co-workers.

Sorry Pam that you're having a rough day. I know the hormonal feeling, I just got a refill on my Estradol. The emotional rollercoaster can do you in fast. I hope it all gets better soon.

PS wish I could do some whining but I won't it's too much to put on my friends here. So I'll just let the dogs whine instead and wish it was me.

Heck, I have no problem pitching a fit, running to my room to slam the door or bursting into tears. Was I supposed to be acting grown up at my age? LOL I feel ya Pam.....it's a real PITA.

At least we all have our puppies to help us through it.

Pam,

1) The headache will pass.

2) When I worked in the office I always cleaned up after myself, but no one else.  If dirty dishes and stuff were left in the sink for days I used my simple approach to cleaning...sink...please meet trash can... and it all went in the garbage.  Yep, that's me...big butthole.

3) Growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional...you're grown up enough.

4) They will surely come to visit and stay a few days, just long enough to want your space back.

Good thing there isn't a 5th item on your list, I wouldn't know wht to say about the rest.

First - it was very thoughtful to preface this with a warning.  I never do... I just wail away.

Sinus headaches suck.  Alternating hot and cold compresses sometimes help... most of the time, Advil helps me.

Breakroom duty - well that does suck.  Can't folks clean up after themselves?

I can still throw a fit no matter how old I am.  Instead of being called a brat, I get called an old fart, but that's OK.

Son moving out - well that is a good thing, right?  If he's anything like I was in my late teens/early twenties... he'll back around probably sooner than later.

Finally... it's only Monday for a few more hours.

Thanks guys. The headache did go away finally. Everyone is supposed to clean up after themselves, but the person on breakroom duty starts the dishwasher and unloads it when it is done. I am glad my son is acting like an adult and getting out on his own. It's neat to see how excited he is and he has asked for a few of my recipes.

If you don't have high blood pressure, there's some goop at Wal-Mart that I LOVE for sinus headaches. Its the Equate brand...err...its...oh. Severe Allergy and Sinus Headache. Its $2.36...and I couldn't survive without it in the Spring and Fall!! It will knock you out the 1st few doses, but at least you wake up with no headache I popped two (doseage is 1, but I'm in a bad way right now, LOL) about an hour ago, and I'm still going. They stopped konking me out a while ago. Now they just work, and its fabulous!

I just need to remember to take some kind of sinus meds before I go to bed at night. If I do, then I am fine. Dang ol' ragweed!
