Hi all.

About 4 months ago we rescued a 6-month old dog.  The shelter couldn't tell us exactly what mix he was, but felt a daschund-terrier mix was most likely.  The dashshund side seems obvious - he's long and his front paws angle outward.  And he sure looks terrir, but I thought Jack Russel (not being overly familiar with the rat terrier breed), but after seeing some pics am now thinking that's his other half.

I had trouble trying to post photos in the Photo forum, so did so elsewhere:

Curious what you all think.

Thanks

He is a cutie that is for sure could be rat with wire doxie but probably Doxie with a coated jack. Does not really matter Welcome to the site and Bless you for adopting him and giving him a good home. He looks like he is close to the coloring of my Ivy!

here you go:

aww, he's cute!  similar color to my Lucy...he's apricot and white.  hmm...the coat is longer than ratties are, and to me, his face looks more JRT than rattie, but it might be because of the longer hair.  check out the "you might be a rattie if..." section and see if his personality matches ratties.  no matter what breed(s) he really is, you are welcome to stick around.

Buddy - gone but never forgotten.

Welcome to you.  Your pup is so cute!  I think I see wire-coated Jack Russel Terrier there for sure.  He does have a lot of torso length, but those legs have more massive bones more like basset or corgy.  Coloration sorta resembles corgy, too.  Dachshund legs aren't that thick, IMHO, and I raised seven of the little weinie dogs myself over the years.

No matter what he is, he sure is a cute little guy!

He's cute and actually quite beautiful (there are mixes that are just cute, you know, they look half and half or whatnot, but he looks entirely like himself to me... not sure if you get what I mean but it's a compliment lol...)
Don't think he's a rattie mix, but hey you're welcome here anyway!!
