It doesn't look as though we're going to be getting Skip.  I called the owner last night to tell him we had a fosterhome lined up, and all we needed from him was to get him out of the city and upstate  just a bit, and he was like..."I can't...I have to work... I don't have a car... I don't have time... "  and when I told him we were trying to help and I needed some cooperation from him, he told me not to give him attitude... pffffffbbbbbbttttttttttt... he doesn't even KNOW what kind of attitude I could have given him......

ALL I need is for someone to pick him up and get him out of the city and upstate just a bit!!  Is that too much to ask from an owner who wants to DUMP his dog but claims he doesn't want to bring it to a shelter????  This is why I really hate people sometimes.......

poor skip sounds like hes got one of those GREAT owners. it sounds like he thinks hes doing you a favor buy allowing you to take skip. sometimes some people just need some sense knocked into them. it takes a lot to find a foster home or a permanent home with people who will actually care and love their new baby for the rest of his life.

Thanks, Gianni.  I've got a few emails out.  I really doubt he'll do anything... he wants US to do all the work.  He was very beligerent last night....

Keep your fingers crossed - I have a contact right in Brooklyn, and I'm waiting to hear back. He said he may be able to help out, but he has to make a few phone calls....

Well, if this guy doesn't have transportation, time or money like he's boo-hooing about, what I'm afraid of is that he's just gonna let Skip loose and let him fend for himself...

you know i have never seen a stray dog in NYC before!!!! ever in my 28 years of living here... i think he will pawn it off or do what many do with dogs/babies... CHURCH DOOR STEPS!!!! i dont think it will come to that... i think this guy herad upstate NY and freaked... to city folk i live in the stics and i am 45mins - 1 hour from there..!!!!!

It takes me about 2 1/2+ hours to get to the City from where I live, which is about 20 minutes west of Albany.  (I don't live in Albany, I just work here)... all I'm askin is for him to to get the dog upstate just a bit so I don't have to come into the city...  and he can't even do THAT!

pottymouth sue how fast you drive?! i just googled scotia, ny to my address in mahopca nad it says 2 1/2 hours... and i am about 1 hr north of NYC!!!!  again... get him to the bronx area and i will gladly bring him to my home area if you want to come and grab him that works...

I drive pretty fast lol  usually 80 or so on the Thruway...

I've got a call out to the people who first told me about this guy and Skip.... and they've put out an email and copied about 20 people down in that area to ask for help.... I have out 2 emails to people I know down there.... one may be promising.... but I have to play the waiting game, and it's KILLING me.... I'm finding it so HARD to concentrate on work today, all I can think about is poor Skip....

This whole thing makes me so annoyed. Ya know dumping your dog then not wanting to help do the best thing for him which is get him into rescue. I hope this man does not get another pet EVER. Sue, I have a call out to my friend in Manhattan to see if he would be willing to help out. I have not heard back from him yet though.
