That Beacan Ratbone has been adopted! A very nice couple in middle Georgia have been approved to adopt him. They already have a bed and toys for him and a huge yard. He will be the "only child" so he will gets lots of attention....and his new mom will be walking him a lot. 
For those of you who missed his story, Beacan was an owner surrender to Ratbone Rescues from a family in Virginia who didn't have time for him. He's a wonderful little dog - housetrained, crate trained, sits on command, behaves well in the bath, even lined up with my dogs last to get his teeth brushed!!
The last few nights he's been snuggling with one of my husband's dirty socks....has taken it into his little bed. Makes me sad because he so wants to believe he's "home" now and won't be sent away....but once he goes to his forever home I know he'll be super happy and not ever be "sent away" again. |

That's great news!!  It sounds like he will be loved and get tons of attention. I can only imagine how emotional it must be for you (and the other foster parents) to send off these fosters to their new homes. BUT for every foster that's placed, another rattie can be saved. |

Sheesh MB, you crank them out there don't you!! I am so happy yet another foster has a forever home. It's kind of sad about the whole sock thing but hopefully the new family will send many pics!! |

| Mardi, I'll only be over my limits for 3 weeks....Beacan's parents won't get him until after their cruise so Oct 4th is his going home day. I get Alfy and Rosy (New Rattitude girl) this Saturday....but that was my choice. I had to have Alfy! LOL |

These stories are so touching!!! Thank god for all the wonderful foster people out there, and for Ratbones!! All of YOU are WONDERFUL!!! Takes very special people to do what you do. I get toooo attached to be a foster, but I do know where to look when I am ready to adopt a sister for Holly who is 10 1/2 months old. I told hubby I dont want Holly to be the only baby  so when she is 2 years old, I want her to have a sister. He smiled at me and said ok..... I want to get done all the training issues first, She has been awesome with all the training from day one. She is very smart. And we are thinking about moving, so I need to get settled before I bring another little one into our family.....but I will contact Ratbones when I am ready. And hopefully they will let me adopt one from their family. Again You are all wonderful!!! And I love this site, I have learned so much...Thank you. |

oh okay.... i was hoping that you wouldn't be, but yes, it is your choice, and I'm glad that you had to have Alfie.... there were a few fosters that i had to have! even if it is just temp. but still, i'm glad that you are taking her in.... have you heard any updates about her lately? in her temp. foster home? I have been thinking of her....... |

| Nancy, Alfy is in temp foster with a University of Georgia professor in Atlanta. Haven't heard how it's going (she doesn't get on the Ratbone or Georgia rescue chat sites much) but I'm sure she's fine. This lady has temp fostered before and is good at it. Just 3 more days and I'll have her!!! |

I am very happy for Beacon. He is such a cutie in his pics. Make sure to tell them about Jamboree so we can see him.
MB - I will email you what Donna said about Alfy. She is being a sweetheart and kid tested and passed. There are pictures too, but with all the dogs I loaded Donna up with she is a little busy LOL! |
