I don't have a pic of the front of the house yet... but more pix will come as I go along.. I ordered some new stuff for the Rubber Ducky guest bath tonight... the border was already there and I decided to run with it.... |

I love the house Jan!! I REALLY like the rubber ducky bathroom. That is what I was going to do the boys bathroom in, until they informed me that they were too old for rubber duckies!!  |

Congrats Jan! I am so glad to see that smile on your face and Sassy and you look quite comfortable. Were you able to save any of your old furniture or is this all brand new. I was just thinking your afghan looked like something maybe you were able to get from the house or maybe you are a quick crochet woman! That would take me a year!
Congrats and Now I'm singing Rubber Ducky You're the One....Thanks...it'll be in my head all day!

The family that lived here before had 2 little girls and the guest ducky bath was theirs I just ran with the border
the master bath, I put deep purple towels and rugs in ... good chakra color
the bed set was bought for me by my friend Wendy before I got a new house as a house warming pressie
the afgan was made by my Aunt Bessie for the same reason ...
yes all the funiture is new,... the couch and love seat and glass tables was given to me by my friends Richel and Rosanne. they had it in a formal LR and bought a new house without a formal LR and didn't need it anymore... they never used it so its like new
The only things I could salvage from the house was everything 2ft above flood water....
my china hutch was ruined as was all my furniture..
not too much was salvaged from the house...
I have new dishes and pots n pans and a Bunn coffee maker why I didn't buy a Bunn years ago I have no clue
The same day I bought the Dyson vaccume I bought a new carpet steamer too...
All of the windows are the tip in ones... which I love for cleaning. I love clean windows...
Heart House, I believe was just a stepping stone to bigger and better...
Had I not bought HH I would have been still living down the street in a rented apt of an old house.. that old house was trashed in the flood as well, so I wouldn't have had insurance of any kind and would have lost everything without replacement...
So losing HH was a blessing in disguise!

i am so glad that every thing worked out for you. but i am also sorry that you lost everything in the flood. were you able to salvage anything? did you lose any family heirlooms? but i love your new house |

yes I lost all the family pix they were in the basement
I lost all the antique furniture...
I did save a couple heirlooms... like a milk pitcher that came over on the Carpathia with my family from England and a little chair that was made for my dad by my Grandfather.. |

Sassy has had a peeing issue here, not sure if its anxiety or the fact that boy doggies lived here before her... the people that lived here before had a Pug and a Boston, both males...
I have a puppy pad down in the spot that she is peeing in.. and Thank God for the new carpet cleaner.
This poor pup has been thru as much as I have.... so I don't stress over it much...
Actually all I have been thru has changed me alot... I don't stress over small stuff at all... such a waste of energy in the grand scheme of things...
The autommotive industry is taking a hit in the current softening of the economy however. Layoffs are in the future... but with a house payment as cheap as I have it, I can be a greeter at Wal-Mart and still make my bills... another blessing is disquise? |

I think its adorable!! I'm glad to see you smiling, too. I know what you're going through, and it sucks!!
We lost everything once; oddly enough, all I could salvage was my kid's scrapbook Its so hard to start over, but I gotta say...it made us appreciate what we have now SOOOO much more. Not that we didn't before, but I guess we took it for granted.
Once you clean the carpets, maybe the pup will stop potty going inside. Our black lab wouldn't pee in the house if her life depended on it, so we never even realized that someone else's dog had peed in this house. The smell was long gone (to us). When we found Pix, I don't know that anyone had EVER worked on housetraining her, and she constantly went to one sopt. I got out the Kirby and went to town. I cleaned that spot like I've never cleaned anything before. She quit going there too
