And we didn't even know she was pregnant!!
Seriously, here's the REAL story. I always pack baby carrots in Susanna's lunch. She loves them more than any other food (except broccoli; I know. My kid is weird). About a week ago, I gave one to Pix and she ate it. We gave her a few more that night and never really thought about why she'd grab the carrot from our hands and run off with it. We thought she was eating them.
Fast forward to this morning when I was packing Susanna's lunch. Pixie begged me for a carrot, so I gave her one. In about 20 seconds, she came back begging for another, and repeated this process a few more times before I thought, "Something's up."
I followed her into our parlor and found her burying something under the pillow of her bed.
I let her finish and I went to inspect. This is what I found, only there were actually several in there; I only took a picture of one. Some of them were new, and a couple of them were old and shriveled up.
Well, Pixie caught me messing with her stash of carrots. She started to nervously prance around, so I acted like I was leaving but only went around the corner so I could watch what she did next. I expected her to mess with the pillow and to get it "just so" over her prized collection of baby carrots. Instead, she began to move them, one by one.

Then it hit me. "OMG. They're her BABIES!" I nearly died laughing!!!
Then, as if to prove me wrong, she got one out from under the couch, her new hiding place, and ate it right in front of me!
Once she realized I found her new hidey-hole, she moved them all again. I think she put them back in her bed, but I have found a couple of them in weird, random places.
Pixie has lived with us for 6 months as of today, and this is, by far, the funniest thing she's done since we found her that day. What a great present |
