I have a 2 year old RT.  She is very loving and playing with my daughter and I but she doesn't like anyone else.  We have tried treats to reward her with good behavior and about anything else I can think of.  If someone else tries to pet her she shakes and will even try to bite them and a couple of times she has bitten someone.  My vet has put her on meds which helps somewhat and she have been spayed, which I hoped would help.  The problem is in a month and half we are going on vactions and she can't come with us.  I have to board her because no one will watch her for me, but I'm afraid she is going to feak out at while there and try to bite or will bit someone.  I'm at a loss of what to do.  Any ideas or suggestions?

Where are you planning on boarding her can you take her for a visit before you have to leave her? I work as a groomer and sometimes it amazes people of their dogs reaction to me. I work with the most frightened dogs and usually can get them to trust me. I can only remember one dog I could not get to warm up to me. A lot of times it just takes my calm reassuring ways to get even the most nasty biting dog to calm down for me and I know there are a lot of people working in the animal industry that can work magic with dogs! Best of luck to you. Sorry no real words of wisdom. She will be fine. How long do you have to leave her?

We are leaving her for 5 days.  I thought of taking her to my vets, but when I take her into the vets office she has to be muzzled because she bite someone there when I took her in to be spayed.  I told them of her dislike of strangers and on the good side she did let someone hold her but because she doesn't like strangers and we were afraid that she might bite they muzzled her.  Well she got free from her muzzle and bite one of the vet techs.

Bad things always happen at the vets! I would probably bite them too! Maybe if you took her to a boarding kennel she may have a different reaction but be sure not to be nervous about it because they will feed off your fears if you can go for a fun visit and take some kind of really special treat and have them give it to her she may remember it as a good place even if you give her the treat and make sure you really like the place or at least pretend to like it. It will be hard to leave her but she can handle a week. Some dogs will not eat for the first few days but she will eat when really hungry. It is just to bad you don't have someone that she can stay with. I use to work in a kennel and they should know how to handle them.
