His Dad won't leave, and he won't leave his Dad. I am flipping my lid. Please keep them in your prayers. They are the Aucoin family. I don't get it! Why won't they leave? They left for Katrina...what's different?! I don't care if his entire family comes to stay with me. I just wish they'd leave.

My parents and sister won't leave either they boarded up the house and are going to stay......I just know that no matter what I say or how I feel about it they are just not leaving....Its frustrating and upsetting.....Milly

That is really too bad. They are saying this storm could be worse than Katrina was. Sending prayers...

I was there for Hurricane Betsy and at the time we thought it couldn't be any worse. I jsut cannot iamgine. My prayers are with your family. There were areas of less damage after Katrina so I am keeping my fingers crossed for your family.

It is already mandatory evacuation and they still won't leave....so stubborn.....milly

If they're on the higher ground and have supplies, they could be OK. It's the ones in the soup bowl that absolutely need to leave. One of my best friends has parents there, they didn't leave for Katrina and won't leave now. Dang.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

Thanks for the prayers! They worked. His family is on the west bank, but all they lost was a tree in the front yard. He called at 2 p.m. to let me know. During Katrina, his house wasn't flooded. He was so relieved when he got the call that his neighborhood made it through, for the most part. Then he got home to find that a ginormous oak tree had basically bisected his house, LOL. It ended up being pretty much a total loss. I can't believe it, but the outer bands of Gustav are here. I didn't think we'd see anything but rain....which it is about to do!! Its pretty windy (for here, which honestly isn't saying much) and we're getting the occasional sprinkle. I went outside and picked everything up that could blow away and tied down our patio table and umbrella. It sooooo cloudy here! Milly, how are you and yours?? Is everyone OK?

My family made it they got a lot of rain and gusts of wind some flooding on the patio...but evrything is good yippy...now I will go pluck the few extra gray hairs they gave me....Milly
