ok guys just now hunters breeder emailed me and told me that she doesn't know anymore if she wants me to have hunter. she said since Max passed that i was a irresponsible owner since he did die. i told her that from the start on what happened with Max and why i was looking for another terrier. anyways she said to me that she's not so sure anymore cause she loves her babies..... i told her what happened to Max wasn't my fault and i did do everything i could to save him i even showd her the vet papers! but she still calls me irresponsible. so am i? did i really do the wrong thing with max? am i a bad dog owner? i want everyone to be honest please.
i emailed her back and i did tell her she wasn't exactly a good breeder as both her dogs are 1 yrs old. she didn't even want to give them their shots. so i don't know if i should even get him anymore |

i think there's probably something else going on on her side to just suddenly "change" her mind when you were being straightforward with her from the start. no body in their right mind should do that. (IMO)
you're not irresponsible... everyone here probably remembers your terrible ordeal. you did everything you can. don't worry about her.
however, i assume that email you sent her probably severed any sort of buyer/seller relationship. i'd say it's time to move on...  |

| thanks michelle...it just really sucks that shes doing this now after i have waited so long and only 5 days away from getting him. i mean how could she be fine with it up until now? but i guess i still have Hope and she is turning out to be a amazing dog so i guess i'm doing something right? |

| Ashley i think so too and i would really like to know. there is a new litter of puppies at my neighbors rattie mixes but i did really want hunter, but i guess if she's being that way about it i really don't know what to do |

You have a verbal agreement with this breeder. A verbal agreement is as good as a contract. You were upfront and honest. You also have paperwork from your vet attesting to the fact that you did everything possible for Max. I'm thinking that she has someone who is willing to pay more for your pup. |

| excalty you are doing something wonderful with Hope... ur bringing her out of her shell that shes been in for who knows how long. and i hope you plan on keeping her and dont give her back to her owners that had her before it would just be a big turn around. U didnt give up on her when she bite you dont give up yet maybe theres another puppy out there that needs you more... maybe even one through Ratbones they have alot of cute ones. Check out there site im sure youll find a puppy when the time is right for you. I hope you do keep HOPE though youve done so much for her already keep up the good work with her and it well turn out alright |

| Yukon Cornelius i asked her that also in the email, but i would really like to know why she all of a sudden changed her mind. I do plan on keeping Hope i will not give her back to the original owners. after i talked to them about her last night they said they no longer wnated her because they can go out and get another pup. i have checked out ratbones and i have seen a few i'd be intrested in. but my neighbors also have a new litter of rattie mixes too that are extrememly cute. i posted their pics in the rattie photos section name puppy pics if you wanan see. but thanks guys i'm really trying to do my best with everything |

Hey, just my two cents here but if this "breeder" bred 2 dogs who were only a year old then she is not an ethical breeder. Some genetic conditions cannot even be tested for until the dogs are 2 years old and the little girl is way too young....females should have a couple of heats before being bred. And the fact this "breeder" didn't want to give the puppies any shots???!!! That's totally wrong, if you are getting your pup at 8 weeks old then he should have at least the first series of puppy shots....odd that she would suddenly consider you a "bad owner" when she won't even give her puppies their shots.
I'd walk away from this breeder....you may end up with a sick pup and go through yet another heartbreak. If you really want a puppy then find a reputable breeder or check out rescue pups. JMO |

| I don't know your entire story, as much as you probably have had your heart set on this little puppy, perhaps this bredder is not the one you should be working with. And perhaps this puppy is not the oneyou are meant to be with. Maybe this is the universe's way of having you rescue another sould that really needs it and needs you? |

yeah i think its time to walk away from this breeder too. i have been patient with her and like i said i was honest from the start, but i guess she wasn't.
here's the neighbors litter what do you guys think?
these puppies will have their shots and i can go and visit them whenever i want

You are doing the right thing if you walk from this breeder because she has had you up in arms since the birth if I am not mistaken. A breeder shoul;ld have communication with the buyer as much as possible. You can ask Ashlie avbout when Milo, how is he doing, growing up and all of her questions.......Now you keep mentioning your neighbors pups.........see what happens with Hunter (great name I had a female w/ same name) and if nothing comes of it you have a litter right near you that you can watch grow up and play with and learn the pup and see who suits with who.......Good luck!!! |

I think i would be doing the right thing too, i just want her reasoning on why she all of a sudden did this out of the blue you? i mean i think i deserve to know why. my neighbors pups i'm thinking about but i'm not going to rush into anything again as of right now.
I know ashlie kept in contact with you and she was thrilled you kept in contact with her and answered all your questions...btw Milo is doing awesome she don't have a computer right now so she can't get one, but she said he's having ear wars. |

The pups are beautiful.....is the one with the heart a male or female.....I think that one would be for you because you have had such a wonderful heart since Max died with all of the animals that you have helped to save.........
BTW if Ashlie wants to know what I think Milo will grow up like just have her look at pix of Rainy, not the color but the shape of the head and ears warring still.....she is 11 month old tomorrow and she is Milos big sister from another litter......... |

Adorable puppies...
I'm so sorry that irresponsible breeder is doing this to you. I think either she found another buyer, or she decided to keep Hunter or give Hunter to someone she knows... she's just searching for an excuse to get out of the deal she's made with you.. still, you've been watching that puppy grow up and I think you would be an amazing mommy to Hunter, so I do hope you find a way to get him...
But if you don't, those little puppies next door are just adorable! I'd go for one of the red ones. |

Melo--
Her first puppy (Max) was attacked by a pit bull who jumped her fence and killed it. There is no way that Max's death was in anyway her fault!!!!! Later, she tried to save a lhaso apso that is the one you're remembering, but the animal hadn't bonded with her yet, and ran away and was hit. It was tragic, yes, but it's also not the same situation as a puppy. She took off from work to try to find it, and was very responsible faced with the situation...

I would say to heck with Hunter's breeder, she doesn't sound very reputable. As soon as I saw the puppy pictures I was thinking that you should get the one with the heart too. I'm glad to hear that you are getting him. Good luck. You've had some tough breaks lately don't let what that breeder said get you down. |
