If you will recall, Monty was rescued from the Monterey County shelter in Salinas, CA. Prior to coming to the shelter, he was mauled by wild animals. He sustained severe bite wounds to his neck and face. Thankfully, Ratbone stepped in and rescued him from the shelter.
While his bite wounds have healed, Monty requires expensive ($1,250) surgery in his left eye. His surgery is scheduled for August 3, 2008. Monty has a genetic disorder that causes the ligaments that hold the lens on to weaken. The stress and trauma from his attack was too much for his eye and the lens fully detached and has moved in front of his eye. This is very painful for Monty! The vet specialist thinks removing the lens will finally give Monty a chance at a normal life. Ratbone was holding the raffle to raise funds to help pay for Monty's surgery.......... welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
