When we were in Indiana last week, Jan (Sassy'sMama) gave us some pictures of the flash flood that destroyed her home.  She took some of these pictures as the water was rising, and some after the water went down.  The pictures are horrific, but to see it in person is far worse.  It brought tears to my eyes.

My hubby, JD scanned the pictures and resized them, and I'm posting them at Jan's request.

Such destruction. I'm so thankful that Jan survived this and Sassy too. It could have been so much worse.

I am thankful that Jan and Sassy made it out of this okay. Thank you Lord, for keeping our friends safe. These pics made me cry, I just can't imagine losing everything this way. Jan, I hope and pray things are getting better now. My prayers are with you always.

Mia,
Thank you so much for sharing these for Jan. I just keep staring at the ones of the basement and rethinking the story Jan related about the flood, the waters bursting in and the items that were heading towards her and Sassy. To try to imagine what it was like is of course impossible, but looking at the after photos, it seems almost impossible that Jan and Sassy made it out and are both ok.

Jan,
You and Sassy were surrounded by love and angels, spirits, etc that day. I thank God everyday that you are still here. Hope by the time you get a chance to read these messages, you will have had a good rest with Sassy on your vacation. Losing everhting has to be awful, but I'm still so thankful, you and Sassy weren't lost.
Much aloha to you both.

Cheryl,

Jan can't believe that she and Sassy made it out either.  She is still traumatized, and talks about it constantly.  She told us about seeing that first block of the foundation come out of the foundation towards her, and about the sound of bubbling she heard after that.  Jan says she'll never forget that sound.....

She knows that angels were there that day.  Look at all the orbs in her pictures.

Those pictures are so scary.  The power of Mother Nature is amazing.  Thank goodness she and Sassy are ok.  Was the whole neighborhood affected?  It's so sad.

OMG it was totaled, wasn't it? Piers, walls were virtually all lost. So glad she gets to move to a new house. Don't think even the salvage people could salvage anything from this.

Wow...I simply cannot imagine going through something like that. I am so thankful Jan & Sassy escaped without any physical harm, although I would imagine the emotional impact of what happened has had to be really huge. I agree.. there are no words.

It looks like you have  some angels watching over things. In one of the pics I see what looks like 2 orbs.

Oh no.  I am just now seeing these.  My heart is breaking for Jan all over again.  Written words were bad enough, and made me just shudder thinking about her and Sassy trying desperately to get out before things got worse as the walls of her basement were crashing in on her, but to see these photos----well, I cant find the words.  I was at Jan's house for her housewarming right after she bought it, and she gave us the "grand tour" and it was such a beautiful place that she was so proud of.  I just am at a total loss for words now, except to thank God that she and Sassy were protected throughout that whole ordeal.

Yup Paul the basement looks different now dosen't it? I thought for a time that I was gonna spend the rest of my life here.... God said "don't think so chic, I have better plans for you..

I do have to laugh at some things tho, like Culligan calling me and wanting to come pick up their rental unit.... I said well if you can find it you can have it.... good luck... I have no clue where it went... its not on the wall it was on....

Yeah the swing really stands out as destroyed. As well as the bathroom in the basement.
