So I go to ABC for Good Morning America Sunday edition, and ABC has put on the British Open golf tournament. I love playing golf, but it's the most boring thing to watch. Turned to NBC Weekend edition, reminded me why I tend to watch GMA. Of course since Thursday GMA was suborned by parent company Disney into promoting Miley Cyrus and her new album.  No wonder I depend on the internet for news. I'd use the NY Times, but it's not soft enough for us and our parakeet was so freaked out by the bad journalism that she died.

I avoid the news... it's SO depressing and there's never any good news on. I pick and choose from the internet what I want to read about. You know what they say, Dan... "ignorance is bliss". VERY much so in my case! LOL

I'm the same way. If it doesn't "catch" my attention on the MSN home page, I never know anything about it. I try to read "good" news but there isn't very much of it now adays.

Good Sunday morning all. Looks like another hot day here in Ky. I cleaned house yesterday and also mowed my yard so today I'm doing nothing....well except going to visit my grandaughter. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

OK, so now it's Sunday late afternoon in glorious SE PA. I have accomplished nothing. That is good news because I've so pottymouth busy that I thought my head would fall off. Ahhhh.

Dan, I love to play golf, and I love to watch it, but only with my stepfather because he gets so into it. I mean, he makes watching a game of golf as exciting as watching the superbowl, yelling, cursing, screaming "SIT SIT SIT" until the dogs go crazy...have a I mentioned I LOVE him!

Actually, I'm an avid golfer as well. Unfortunately, between what the humidity is doing to my arthritis and my knees doing nothing but cracking when I walk, I've had to take a vacation from golf this summer. I revived target shooting as my alternative sport. I do have to walk the length of two football fields to change a target, but at least it's flat. Also, a Garand rifle is 8.0 pounds or so, but after holding it on target for 10 shots, the decimal point drops out. Lastly, after each shot, I have to check my teeth to make sure that the recoil didn't loosen any.

Well, target shooting seems a lot less labor intensive then golfing...well being a somewhat poor college student I don't pay for the cart I walk. I've always wanted to go to a shooting range...but after your TEETH comment I'm not so sure!

Haha

My admiration for my father's generation go up all the time. Imagine, they ran around banging away with these things through WW II trying to stay alive. My father was actually in the 1st Czech Independent Armored Brigade attached to the British Army, so he ran around fighting with an Enfield 30 Cal. rifle. Different rifle, pretty much the same recoil.
