My Lacey was hit by a car today.  My whole family is heartbroken and in shock.  I still cant believe it.  Im angry and sad and its taking me forever to write this because it hurts so much and the tears keep coming.  Lacey can jump our fence so I never let them out there alone and they are both fine when someone is in the yard with them.  Today my husband got  home early and he went out back by our pond to feed the fish so his back was to the dogs and the gate was left open (by him) and Lacey snuck out and crossed the road to see the dogs across there.  Im so angry with him...I wont tell him that though because he was crying too and feeling guilty.  I couldnt tell my kids that lacey got hit, he had to.  I just couldnt break my childs heart like that, I couldnt do it. My oldest hasnt stopped crying and she wont go to her game.  My youngest sobbed and sobbed.  Its hard to stay strong when you see your kids heart breaking.  I couldnt, the tears came and still are.  She was our family, the kids sibling and my baby!! I know my husband didnt do it on purpose but Im so angry, hurt.  It was preventable.  I dont know that I will be able to get another dog.  We still have Jack, I always said I would always have 2 dogs but I dont think I can do it.  I cant bear to ever go thru this again, not to mention watching my kids go thru it.  My poor Jack, he's going to be so lost.  He has NEVER been alone.  What is he going to do when we all leave and he has to stay home alone.  I hope he's going to get thru this ok.  He knows something is wrong and he hasnt left my side since I got home.  Thanks for reading.  I knew I could come here where everyone understands a dog is your family...not just a dog.  And you would understand the pain of a tragedy like this.

I wish I had words of comfort to give you, but I know that none would really help. I know it would kill me if I lost one of my little ones, and I am so sorry for the hurt and pain this is causing you and your family.
