Well the neurologist put me on neurontin.  But the more I was on it the worse the side effects got.  I was dizzy, off balance, and when I would drive I'd almost fall asleep and almost wrecked.  So I spoke to my regular doc.  He said I was put on to high of a dose.  He should of started me on 150mg instead of 300mg.  So he decided to take me off of it completely and gave me a sample of lyrica.  I'm supposed to call him in three days to see how I feel on it.  If everything goes good then he'll keep me on it.  Problem is...its a controlled substance and very exspensive.  My insurance might not work.  If it doesn't or insurance doesn't cover it he'll put me on topamax.  So we'll see.

Lyrica? Do you have fibromyalgia?

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

No. My doctor is using it to try to prevent my migrains. Even though its not for it, he said it might work. He wants to try this one and if it don't we'll go back to topamax. He thought it caused my virtigo but he took me off it. But now he's wanting to try it again. He feels that the vertigo was from dehydration when I had the colitis. I'm just hoping something works. I took my first dose of lyrica last night and I feel great this morning. I didn't wake up once last night. So if it works then hopefully the insurance will cover it.

Tabitha, Barb takes Lyrica for her diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia, and she swears that she couldnt get through a day without it.  She says it cuts the pain down to at least a tolerable level.

If it works for you, i hope that your insurance covers it......

sometimes i take nadolol to prevent migraines.....   not all the time..  I am not a medicine person If i don't have to take it, i won't....  but i can relate on the pain....   they are horrible.  I'll take meds to prevent/early signs of the migraines... but ugh, i hate the side effects.

If my insurance covers it I have no clue what it will cost. The maxalt is only 6 pills and it still costs me $90. I hope the lyrica works.
