What is the name of that dremel tool that I've seen advertised on TV, especially for dogs?  It has some kind of a guard so you can't get their nails too short.  It might only be available online.

I've got to find some solution to trimming Bob's nails.  When I use doggy clippers, he acts like I'm cutting off his toes.

That would be the Peticure.  The also sell the guard by itself if you already have the Dremel tool.

I just use a reg. dremel at work as a dog groomer.  It works just fine the key is to start slow and only do a little bit at a time till they get use to it.  Ivy at 17 weeks is a pro now. I started using it at 8 weeks when I got her.  Once a week I did just a little and  yesterday I did them and she finally let me do all with No fuss.  I don't know how that guard works but if it works let me know it may come in handy for the client dogs I don't have the luxury of slow time training.  Some dogs prefer the grinder over the cutter I don't know why others like the cutter better probably because of the noise the grinder makes.  sorry this is so long hope it helps.

I saw the commercial for the peticure also and am seriously considering it too.  I've clipped 3 of Dink's nails too short on 2 different ocassions and I'm the one scared to do it again.  He didn't freak out either time but if this drill thing is faster and easier then I want to have it.

I don't know about faster or easier and you have to be careful not to go to short with dremel too.  Does any one have the peticure yet?  How does it work?  Just yesterday my boss was doing a poodles nails and got some too short and it is harder to stop the bleeding from a ground nail than a cut nail.

I cut pixels by hand but they were sharp aftewards and she scratched me. Grinding them would make them smoother right?

I was looking at this too...on tv. I hope someone tries it and posts how they like it. I dont cut Jacks nails, I take him to the vet because he wont sit still. But that might work great!!

I've been thinking about getting one of those too. I take the ratties to the vet to have their nails done, but I do the dobies myself. I'd love to be able to do all their nails (without them putting up a huge fuss) myself.

I ordered the professional model last week.  They said that demand was high and it may take 4-6 weeks before it would be delivered.  I'll let everyone know how it works.  I used to groom dogs and I was always disliked cutting the nails.  Marley acts as if I'm cutting off his leg instead of trimming his nails.  It's such an ordeal.  I'm hoping it makes it easier.
