These are Katie & Laci's first parents. The mom was checked out by a vet who said she had been spayed. The foster family had a long haired chihuahua that hadn't been neutered, I'm not sure why, you would think it would be required when fostering. The female went into heat & the family thought because he was 12 y/o that he didn't have it in him to mate with her so they didn't separate them. That is how our girls came to be. Here are pics of mom & dad.

Here are baby pics of our girls. We came there intending to adopt one puppy but fell in love with both of them. The foster family said the girls always stayed side by side unlike the two boys who were adventurous. We just couldn't choose one & leave the other, they were both too precious. You certainly have a couple of precious pups there, but it does make you wonder. What vet checked her and said she was spayed? Then again, was there a family out there that payed for a spay and the doc didn't do it, or only half did it. Has the mama been spayed for real now?

The female was found wandering around with no collar but had a dog shirt on. She was obviously someones pet but no one claimed her. She was found by a  volunteer for guardian angels pet rescue & was taken to whatever vet they use. This vet thought she had been spayed so they sent her to a foster family. After the puppies, the family had her spayed & adopted her. Even though the adoption fee would have covered spaying for our little girls, we took them to our own vet. They normally spay before you adopt but one of the volunteers works with my husband & said she trusted us to get them spayed. We had them spayed at 5 months before their first heat.

Gee, that's how I ended up getting both of my ratties.  I was torn between the 2 before I got there, but decided on Molly (black tri) and as I was walking out the door, I just couldn't bare to leave Lucy (tan/white) behind, so went back and got her...the rest is history.

How can a vet NOT know that a dog is spayed or not?  Must not be a very good vet.

There were 2 boys in the litter also. They looked just like the dad. The were adopted out 2 days later to different families. Here are the only pics of them, I wished I had taken more but was too busy taking pics of the girls. We visited them at 4 weeks & 5 weeks.

Here is a closeup of one of the boys, hopefully it isn't too blurry.
