I caught Lola chewing on the side of the computer desk. Looking her in the eye, I said firmly, "No chew." Gazing serenely back into my eyes, she stopped chewing the desk ... and started licking it instead. I could just hear her thinking, "Is this better?"

Funny, No wonder we have so many things to share about these dogs, they continue to amuse and make us laugh.

That is funny, I am quite sure that Lola knew what you were saying! I have to be very careful what I say when Nora is around--here is an example-- She is almost 100 percent housebroken, but I read something about submissive unrination or something like that, can't remember the name. Now if she makes in the house she always tries to hide it cause I think she knows it is not cool. I took her to the dog park and started finding out that she was a bit of a bully, or at least she would never submit to any dog, even if it put her in danger. She would fixate on a dog and hound it untill she was on top--She was not violent, but relentless and annoying--I had to remove her. So that night, I was talking to my husband about submissvie urination (nice romantic talk I know) and mentioned i was dissapointed in Nora for being a bully and pain in the but--She was in the room and I was looking in her eys when talking about it. I was not yelling, just looking at her. So she walked right up in front of the TV and started submissive peeing and looked at us and walk away!!! After we have been pretty careful about our conversations in front of her!!! She has not with our knowledge since--These dogs are freaky sensitive!!!

I had rainy chewing on my shoe, it was on my foot and she did the same thing.......I told her to stop and she proceeded to lick my shoe and then my leg and every time I tried to grab her she darted away.........these dogs can be so wierd some times.........

LOL ratties must all be alike...Bailey would do the same thing when he ws a pup , if he was biting us and we would scold him....he would just lick us! They are so funny!
