Unless someone else in Ratbone offers I told our state coordinator that I would take him at least short term (and longer if he gets along with my crew). But it is often hard for us to get these dogs as the shelters would rather sell them/gas them than work with rescue (yes, it's true and that's really frustrating for us - they don't even give us a chance to help these dogs sometimes).
So please cross your fingers that we can get him safely to a foster home before it's too late. These ones always worry me and your positive thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

They still gas in Georgia, too.
I know...across the River in S.C. they do it in an old truck...sick. Cram them in...how ANY human works in any of those places and stays sane is beyond me. Would be like being in an Nazi internment camp....
Even tho I am a Southern gurl, I was surprised that a Northern (sorta) State still did that...
Also...I thought Ga was trying to pass needle-only euthanasia...may have been just my County tho.
ALL of it is just heartbreaking.....
Glad that little guy lucked out!!!!!!

i know a shelter in grand rapids,lansing and detriot all still gas and i wanna say kalamazoo but the farther north you go in michigan the less likely you are to find a place that gases

| Matters is here! His name is Matters, he is four years old and knows his name well. His owners divorced and dumped him and his buddy (a JRT who was adopted). This boy is SOOOOOOO sweet I can't believe they dumped him. He's neutered, appears to be house trained, and VERY FAT. He weighs 23 lbs and I would say he should be 15 max. He thinks he's a lap dog. So far he gets along well with the crew and is very easy going. I'll get pictures of him soon. I'm looking foward to helping him get in shape. HE is not looking foward to it as much LOL. |

Wow... 8 lbs overweight is a lot for a little doggie! I can see you rationing him already! LOL
Matters is an odd, but cute name.... doesn't sound like he "mattered" much to the couple who dumped him -- what a crying shame. :=( |
