I just heard about this website on Good Morning America.  Apparently you can buy as much gas as you want in bulk at the current price so that when gas prices rise, you are still using gas that you have already purchased at the lower price...which means you save money.

I haven't done a ton of research on it yet...the website just started but I wanted to pass on the info. in case anyone is interested.  I think there is a one time registration fee for the website though.

Gee..I keep hoping the price will go down. I would hate to buy it at current price, and by some miracle it goes down, I would have paid too much...I don't know. It just sucks...

One of the car dealerships from here (Giles Nissan) offered 99cents a gallon yesterday. There was no test drive catch or anything, i'm sure they have some hidden reason behind it (if a car dealership would do this once a year or so, people will want it to stay in business perhaps?) the only "rule" was there was a 10 gallon limit per car. It was supposed to begin at 7 and last till 9, but cars started lining up @ 4 AM so they opened at 630 and stayed open till 11.

They also donated all the money to Acadiana Outreach Program, which is a program for the homeless and also have halfway houses for beaten and abused women. I really think that was very good of them for keeping the money in the city, as my college does, our interior design, architecture, and industrial design programs often do projects to be used there rather than developing something to be thrown away. Last year we developed a few "plans" on how to build coffee tables and shelves using discarded window frames and few pieces of plywood. All materials get donated to them when buildings get torn down and the tools which are required to make them, and they sell them after, depending on craftmanship we've seen some go for $200.

I guess I kinda got off subject, sorry! lol

I really don't think it's going to be going down anytime soon.  At least nothing is looking that way.  And if it does go down...it will go up first...so even if you just buy enough for a couple of tanks, you may save.  I don't know?

Well there is a $40 annual fee associated with the card so you have to figure that in to the price too. Might be a good deal for those who do a lot of driving. Something to consider is do the stations view the cards as cash ro credit since at least here there is a difference of up to 10 cents for cash vs. credit at the pump now.
