Does anyone know of some home-made ear cleaning solutions for dogs? I don't mind going out and buying ear wash...but wanted to see if anyone knew of any ones I could make out of house hold items!

thanks for the tips!

No matter what anyone says DO NOT put hydrogen peroxide in his ears. Some one talked me into that once and it bubbled for days and drove me crazy. When we were kids my mom used warm olive oil. But don't know if this would work for a dog?

I don't make my own, but I found an all natural ear wash several years ago at a health food store.  I don't pour the liquid in like they say, but dip a q-tip in the liquid and gently squab the ear, to get it closer to body temp before squeezing a few drops into the dogs ears.  It takes the itchiness away, and really soothes the ears...plus it smells nice.

oh, be careful if you use a q-tip...I only used it on my old guy, Buddy, who would let me do whatever I needed to do. for my girls I only use a cotton ball or tissue...they squirm too much and I don't want to risk damaging their ears.
