I haven't posted anything for a while on my continuing efforts to get Mitzy more comfortable around strange dogs and Mayfly more confortable with new people so....

Mayfly continues to slowly be more comfortable with new people, being around other dogs that are friendly helps but I don't think she'll ever be ok with meeting children that move around a lot.

Mitzy is doing super good with new dogs - I'm really proud of her!  She's friends with Gavin now and tolerates Morgandy.  Having fosters in the house has been great for her, helping her to relax with new dogs.  She does let each of them know not to invade her space at times (like when she's eating or peeing or when she's in her spot on the bed pillows.)  But she does it in a rather matter of fact way instead of sounding like she'll eat them! LOL

All in all having fosters through the house has helped my dogs AND my dogs have really helped each foster adjust to their new life and place in the pack.  It's fascinating to watch how they do this.  As each foster comes into the home they look to the dogs there almost as much as the humans for things...like Mayfly is teaching Morgandy the "best place to pee" in the yard!

Mary Beth, that  is so awesome. Sometimes with all the excitement of fosters we dont' hear much on the dogs that live there LOL. I am glad you keep us posted, now lets get some Mitzy and Mayfly pics going !!!

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

I am glad that your own kids are doing so well with the foster kids.   I know that Max would disown us if we THOUGHT about another dog.

He likes his KINGDOM

LOL - I'll have to take some new pics. My avatar is a recent pic of Mayfly with foster brother though. She's whispering to him out of the side of her mouth saying "smile Gavin! smile!"

This is great MB. I wonder what Amos would do IF I were to get another rattie. He's pretty envious of Smooshy. If I'm loving up on Smooshy, Amos gets between me and Smooshy. He does the same thing to my daughter and Smooshy is HER dog. lol
I'm glad that your crew have been adjusting so well to these new pups.

that's great MB! I love watching the dogs when a new dog comes into the family...the older ones teach the young ones the "house rules," set their limits, etc. I'm glad that the fosters are giving back by helping your pack with some of their "issues."
