All the older members know we live on a lake formed by the damming of a river. So yesterday I went to sit on the dock a spell and Katie and Dixie went with me. Every summer the members on here must endure all the photos I post of Katie (our Rat-Triever) and our Dixie (our LabRat) enjoying swimming in the lake and this year is no different.  I must say that Katie out swam Dixie by a good 15 minutes yesterday!

| Great pics, I love that last one. I'd never had Bailey around water until last week, Dillon and a friend were fishing in the Tradewater River which is close to us. I took Bailey with me to pick him up and she ran and jumped right in the water. She was so dirty and found what was left of a dead turtle and had to roll in that. Luckily I had some old sheets in my trunk to cover the car seats and get her home and a bath. |

They usually don't swim too far from our dock -- that picture of KS is about as far as they go and you can see she isn't that far from the shore. Sometimes they swim out across the cove we are in, but that is still not a great huge distance. Katie swam about 30 minutes. If we are in the water, Dixie will stay in for as long as we are out there -- she loves to swim with the grandkids. It all depends on the mood they are in!
Some of the Ratties on here like the water and some don't. I think Katie loves it because of her Labbie big sister. And when we first got Katie we had two Labs (we lost one about a 18 mos ago to cancer) and KS adores Dixie and will do anything Dixie does. So, she is not going to be outdone by her big sister! She loves to jump in from the dock -- in fact, somethin her big sister does not do very often! |

We never get tired of the river pic's and of course the swimmers. My favorite was when you posted the video.
Don't they have stairs for getting in and out if they don't jump in ?

Yes Vicki they get in and out on the stairs and now that Dixie is slim and trim she has a much easier time using them. Katie usually always jumps in -- but likes to have the stairs down before she jumps (they come out of the water when we aren't down there) but Dixie usually gets in from the bank, she jumps in occasionally. |

| Awsome. KC looks like a great swimmer, just glides through the water. They both look faboulos (sp), iI can't see how anybody would get tire of seeing pics of your 2. For us "newcomers" it was an experience!!! |
