Ok, Here is where I get the whine some about some of the things that go wrong when you are breeding!

I sent in my paper work for my pups papers from my own mail box. DO NOT DO THIS!! Some body stole my paper work out of it and cashed the check. I was busy going to school, being a mom, and getting sick twice this year since Jan, for three or four weeks at a time. I did not notice the puppy slips had not come. When I finally did notice and called AKC to find out what the hold up was I found out they had never received the application.YOW! This is when we find out about the papers being stolen.

OK now I get to do it again, Not a problem? Well, the pups are six months old and I get to Pay the Penalty. $60 plus the regular price for the application. OK.

Being that I was sick twice this spring ect, I did not agressively pursue selling my pups. I don't mind keeping them, but of the two that I did get placed in homes, one came back. This is OK I would rather her come back to me than be in a shelter or other bad situation, But it is frustrating to deal with a pup that has been gone for a few months and the others do not recognize her anymore.

So now I have 10 dogs, five of which have had very little training because of my own failings and I still have a very nervous one that is a year older that I need to train too.  I am feeling very old, very tired and very mad at me. Needless to say I have a lot of work to do this summer and hopefully still will find homes for the three pups that I did not intend on keeping forever.

It is a sad story and stuff happens. Breeder beware! Pour me some more cat beer!

Susan, thank you for sharing this.  Yet more reasons that anyone desiring to breed should thoroughly research what is involved and be very sure that breeding is what they want to do.
