IM here cracking up at my computer....this is a character, Penelope, from Saturday Night Live who acts exactly like one of my co-workers.  Ok, Maybe a TAD exaggerated, but not much....

ROFLMAO!!  Yes, indeed I do work with someone like that.  She has been teaching for over 35 years and no matter what the conversation is about--she has to one up everyone involved in the conversation.  I think that she thinks it makes her fit in with the younger teachers when she does that.  Little does she know.

Hahahaha---I know a couple of people like that! ....and worst one I know  for "one-upping" is a guy!

I don't currently work with someone like that, but I have. Right now I work with a woman at Ikea who speaks just like the SNL character Molly Shannon played, Mary Catherine Gallagher. I swear that everytime I hear her speak, I do a double take.
