I just wanted to update how Eddie is adjusting to my kids. Today Alexandria (8 months) was crawling around on the floor. Eddie was in the middle of our family room actively chewing on a Nylabone. Alex crawled right up to him (I was sitting there, they weren't unattended) and took the bone away from Eddie. He didn't growl, snap, grab at it or anything . He just looked at her like "Hey, that's mine!" He stood up and ever so gently took it back and moved to another spot. Of, course he got lot's of praise and pats for being such a good boy. I don't usually let any of my kids bother him when he's got his bone but I was relieved to know that he is not possessive. I've had no issues with him showing any type of aggression towards Alex, occasionally he nips at Mikey but that is getting rarer and rarer and only happens if Mikey moves at him too fast like 2 year olds tend to do. Now he just stays clear of him (unless Mikey's up for a game of tug o' war of course ) and Mikey pretty much ignores him too. The only problems I have now is trying to fit two kids AND a 17 lb rat terrier in my lap at the same time . |
