Ok, I'm odd... I'll admit it. And so, it stands to reason that I would have odd children! LOL But dang... Mother's Day comes around you might expect things like maybe breakfast in bed or a coffee mug with flowers on it...NOT!

I received from my eldest daughter (who does not cook, a set of pots and pans) nice... basic sweet gift given with good intent. If I have nice pots and pans, maybe I'll cook for her even though she moved out of the house over a year ago...LOL

(which I did the very next day, chicken soup for my sickly one who now has the flu! Ohhh ick!)

Second daughter made me a lovely hand painted watercolor card with all the words to the song, it's a wonderful world on it and a cd with the song as well as many other songs on it

very cool!

Johnny made me a leather sling... for slinging rocks the kind that would have been popular back when killing a bison at a great distance would have been an option... hmmm

yesss..... ROFL 'cause mom at age 42 slings lots of rocks!!? hehe

I think not! Can you imagine me having to explain to my husband how I managed to break a window slinging rocks? LOL I giggled over that visual all day

And the winning present for oddness and overall heebie jeebies?

A rattle snake tail from my 16 year old son! Um....Bleh! Thank you Joshua

His suggestion? You can drill a little hole through the hard tail piece and make a necklace out of it!

Try not making a face while being the recipient of this gift! LOL

Hope all the mommies out ther had a wonderful mother's day, me? I'm still looking for the rest of the snake!

sounds like my house! I got a crock pot from my oldest, a houseplant from my youngest as well as a cup and a half of sand! What the sand was for I do not know. My youngest daughter gave me broken glass from the river here. What do you do with broken glass? And the regular photos and cards from the others.

I had a rattlesnake tail necklace once in the 60's. I do not know what they are used for other than that.

I got a travel mug from my youngest, who got it free when we stopped at a gas station to fill up the van. It's the thought that counts....wait, there wasn't much thought in there, was there?

Aw....I think they meant well. I'd say you get Mother of the Year for keeping a straight face for those. My kiddos made me the typical school projects. Hubby didn't buy me anything. But, he won an ipod nano at work on Saturday and gave it to me. Yippee!!!! I LOVE it! Used it at the gym today.
