Well, we had tornado warning last night from 8:45 thru 9:30. I spent most of that time in the bathroom with all 5 dogs. Not fun. Worse when poor Loco, who was extremely nervous, had bad gas....I mean she was farting out loud! (For those who don't know she's a very elegant whippet! )
Scary because they said a tornado was right in St. Marys! It missed us but I'm having a hard time waking up this morning....lots of coffee needed. |

I heard about that Kim! It was so windy here all day yesterday, then the tornadoes came down to us. Really weird because we got NO rain, just distant thunder and that awful wind. At one point last night Bill was watching the sky and actually saw the clouds change the direction they were swirling! Our bathroom/hallway is in the middle of the house and hence the safest place (no basements in FL/south GA). I had leashes on all the dogs so if we got blown away into a tree I'd still have ahold of them! LOL |

Glad everyone is okay! My sister is in the Atlanta area and she said the sirens went off about 5 a.m. Sunday. We had terribly high winds yesterday and it is so cold this morning! Kim, saw your photos, but didn't respond yesterday (I got hit with that #$^@ stomach bug again), but what a day y'all had! |

| Glad to hear that you're all fine!! I'm so scared of tornados!! When I was a little girl we were at a summer picnic at a lake and a tornado came very close to where we were at...the police came and told everyone to get into the ditches!! Needless to say, since then I get very scared when tornado weather comes along...thank goodness you and your family are safe! |

just saw this, I'm glad that you are all okay.....
I am not fond of bad storms myself.... The closet would be the center in my home if the tornado would whip thru here again, but I also have a basement to go to at the church across the street.
In November of 2002, When I was pregnant with my daughter, i was visiting my brother up in waterville, and we had to go to the basement because the alarm when off. My brother's wife was also pregnant, and it was funny to see the guys trying to make sure that we don't get stressed.... and we were all worried.....
and I was worried about my home, and was glad to see that it was still standing..... and about 10 miles south of me... the tornado whipped thru there..... just missed my husband's brother's house.... that was just scary..... |

Oooooooooh Mary Beth!! Glad you are OK!! There isn't much that scares me... BUT the one thing that totally terrifies me are STORMS!! Even as an adult, when I would travel home to visit my Mom and we'd have a thunderstorm, I'd sleep on her floor!!
My Kaci is petrified of storms, and even though I try to remain calm for him, I'm sure ALL my babies can sense how frightened I am... my reoccurring dreams always include tornadoes...
I'm glad everybody's safe!! What's going on with this weather anyway??? |

MB, so glad you and everyone are safe, if not a bit gassed! LOL We were under severe thunderstorm watch last night with tornados around us in lower southeas NC. We had 60 mph winds and a hail storm with pea size to a bit bigger, the ground was covered in hail stones. Also some heavy thunder. Like you I have a plan for bad weather. Both dogs were in their puppia harnesses with their leashes dragging just in case I had to grab them up. both travel crates are by the back door if needed and I would have put mom in the hallway (our only inside wall space) with the pups and me. Aka and Taffy were a little confused, we wear our harnesses to go outside but outside was messy so why are we wearing this stuff? They both were a little nervous with the heavy wind and thunder but had fun barking at the hail as it fell and bounced. Take care and stay prepped! And as Jolene said, weather is crazy!! |

| I have been very concerned with all of you east of the rockies! What next? We are not having major strange weather here just a late spring, but I am praying daily for all my freinds on rt.com that live east of me! I can not believe the weather you are having! I always thought that tornadoes were a summer thing, but I guess not! Makes me glad to be out west where all we worry about are volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis. |
