Wow I just got an email from the owner of Polo's brother(didn't know he had 3) the cool thing is that usealy, when you adopt, you know nothing about the breeding and breeder of your pup,In this case the Shelter where I got Polo connected all #!3 of use together and I found out Polo has 2 brothers that were turn'd in by his breeder, and today one of them contacted me to let me know Polo's bro has A Vascular Narcosis! she said it is a genitic condition(bad breeding!) that the hips must be replaced!!!I was shocked!!!this sounds like a Golden Retriever/Lab condition!!! not a toy breed condition! well it was nice she found me and she also contacted his other brother to let her know too!!! COOL! ha?there are good people out there!!! the surgery is 1200$ for just one side then the other must be done too later!!!I'm glad Polo seems fine his other brother too! but talk about "dodge'n a bullet"! So those of you breeders (or potential breeders) get those testings done!!! this could be you!!!

wow, that's great that she was able to find you and let you know. Now you know what to look for in the future. I wonder if that's why they were dumped at the shelter?

Keep an eye on those pups, I hope all stays well with them. Avascular Necrosis is actually mainly limited to small or toy breeds. It can show up anywhere from 3-13 months so keep an eye out for any symptoms like pain/lameness. Too many bad breeders out there!!
