My dogs are by no means perfectly trained.  They are barkers and we are working on that daily.  We are working on leash training....coming along, but have a ways to go.   But basic commands......I gotta brag, they are good doggies.  I was so proud of them yesterday as they were put to the ultimate test of recall.  Not on purpose mind you.  We have an area fenced in our back yard so we dont have to worry about the dogs running to the front and out to the road.  We also have an area in the way back that is a field and they love to run out there in the long grass.  Its perfect for them to frolick in but we cant leave them unattended because they can get to the front of the house from there since its not fenced.  We dont have any neighbors close since we love in the county.  Anyway yesterday the dogs wanted out really bad.  I assumed it was to flush out rabbits in the back field because it was dusk and they love to go out there at that time.  So I opened the door and off they went I slowly followed behind.  Then I heard them barking like mad.  So I ran to where they were and there was a black lab in our yard that started running away from them toward the front of our house.  Well of course the dogs took off after him.  I yelled "JACK, LACEY....COME"   They stopped dead in their tracks and came to me.  I was sooooo proud of them.  I gave them a treat and told them how good they were.  They were agitated and wanted back outside, jack kept whining at me but I made them stay in the fenced part of our yard.  I dont know where that dog came from, and I know now that my dogs will come when I call, but I wont take any chances until I know that the dog isnt coming back!!   Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to share how proud I am with someone who will actually understand!!!  LOL
