Do any ratties around here participate in flyball? I don't really know that much about it, but I was kind of curious. As much as Henry is nuts over a ball, I was thinking that ratties might be kind of good at flyball.

I had heard the term "flyball", but I wasn't really sure what it was, so I did a google search and found out.  That looks like a lot of fun.  Amos is not very fast, so he probably wouldn't do so good with that but I sure would love to go and watch some dogs run those courses.

I found a locator you can use to locate Fly Ball associations in your area.  There are only 4 clubs in GA and 1 of those is not actively participating at this time.

Here's the link:  www.flyball.org/getstarted/

Sara Jo,

I emailed you a contact here in Georgia.  I think there is flyball at the Petapalooza next weekend too.

They just did an article in our newspaper out here in Portland about two weeks ago on flyball. I've been emailing them about Rowdy, but they have quite a waiting list to go to their beginner's class. (Which is OK, because I want to get him through an obedience class or two before starting anything like that.) They don't need to be particularly fast, Kim. There are different levels, just like wrestlers have different weight classes. I think Rowdy would be great at it (I've had several friends comment on how he would be good at agility, but there's no way I've got the time for that commitment) and it would be great stimulation and exercise for him.

I am thinking about joining a flyball team in my town. Maybe Winchester, he is pretty fast. They want you to come visit a game without your dog first, to check it out.
