Just thought I would share my pretty grandma. Her birthday was yesterday, Cinco de Mayo. Her name is Vera. I need to go visit her. My sister sent me some pics...

There are some lights in the pic. Probably my Grandpa, letting us know he is still with us.

She's beautiful Donna. I can't believe she's 86. She's stunning in violet.

She looks wonderful for 86!! I love her hat too.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

Thanks guys...I love her very much. I need to go see her. I have just been in such a funk, since Josh passed. Maybe the trip to Tennessee, has helped me to realize I can leave the state for a little while. She is my Mama's mama. Gosh, next weekend is Mother's day. I need to send my mom, and grandma, some flowers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Vera, an elegant lady in deed!

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
LadyLes

Donna, go see her if you can. She's a lovely lovely woman. Looks to be full of life. The hat suits her.
Mama's and Grandma's don't last forever. Let her know how much you love her.
Something else I'd like to mention. One of our resident's family brought in one of the digital photo frames to show her grandmother. The woman was absolutely CAPTIVATED by it. She had them run it over and over again. The family didn't leave the frame in the Nursing Home.(stuff like that can go missing, sadly) but they bring it each weekend with different photos of just everyday different things that are going on in their lives. If you have loved ones in the nursing home and you have one of these digital frames, load it up and take it with you for a visit. You will not regret it!
I am soooo gonna get me one.(maybe for mother's day, hint hint)
