Today is the day to honor all nurses.  The ones who get up early and stay up all night with those who are in need.  Sending a shout out to all nurses on Rat-Terrier.com to thank you for all the hard work that you do.

My boss and I are giving our nurses a cookout today.  Hot dogs and Hot chicken salad with the trimmings.  I cooked a cake!

I've got a bunch of nurses that go above and beyond in what they do for our residents.  They are the best and I appreciate all that they do!

Kim, that is very sweet   I would be surprised if the hospital I work in does anything, luckily I am off anyways.  That is great you guys are doing a cookout, it is amazing what "little" things can make people feel appreciated.

Thank You!
What a neat thing to do. A cookout is a real Thank You to the nurses you appreciate. They'll love it.

We had a nice time today.  I didn't get much real work done, but my staff enjoyed their lunch.  The cake went REALLY fast.

I have been a nurse forever it seems like.  I worked as a CNA from 18-21 when I got my LPN license.  As an LPN I worked in a hospital either in med/surg or maternal infant services until I got my RN license in 1993.  I continued on in maternal infant services until 2000 when I worked for a brief time with Hospice services, then into long term care.  I've been in medical services for 26 years.  Up until the last several months, I have been very happy as a nurse.  Some of the things that are happening in the medical field these days are kinda giving me a bad taste in my mouth.  I'm hoping this is just temporary because I don't know how to do anything else.

Again, I salute all my fellow caregivers and send out a big THANK YOU! for all that you do!
