I know this belongs in the health forum, but I need the help quickly!

My fur-brother chance (a ratty)  apparently got into my sister's chocolate stash.  She says he ate two squares of a hershey's bar the AM before school, and then 3 more squares later that night.  He had the hyperactivity, throwing up and a slight fever that first night, and they took him to the vet the next day, the vet said he was fine, but this puppy is still throwing up.  He is pooping, so he's getting some through, but he throws up a few hours after each meal.  I need to know of those lovely rattie throw up helpers that you all throw out!  I searched and could not find them.  My mom has to go back home in a few hours, so I would like to help her out before she leaves.  Chance is fine in all respects except the sensitive tummy now, he and Rocky are full bore as always

Thanks for the help in advance, and it's good to see everyone again!  I've ben gone too long!

Hi, Rockysmom! Boy, these ratties can be sneaky little boogers, can't they? I'm glad you've had him checked by the vet, and it looks like he's going to be ok.

Have you read the post "chocolate, when to worry" in the "diet and health" forum? Lots of good information there.

Update on my Chance.........
We went to the Vet again today and got him meds and perscription food. On my way home from work I stopped by the grocery store and picked up some plain yogurt and white rice (at the suggestion of the vet, in case the 'script food didn't stay down). Chance's two sisters did a wonderful job taking care of their "fur brother" while momma had to work! However, he was still throwing up after eating what little they would give him.

I got home, gave him one spoonful of the plain yogurt then fixed supper for the rest of the family. That was at 6:30 this evening. At 7:30 still no vomiting, but boy oh boy did Chance ever let me know he wanted more! That silent bark he so loves to do !!! I gave him another spoonful of the yogurt. 8 oclock came, still all fine, woo hoo! I had taken 1 spoonful of the 'script food out of the fridge to let it get to room temp and fed that to him. 9 oclock, all still well, but the silent barking started again.....I gave him another spoonful of his yogurt and mixed in his medicine; he lapped it up like it were ice cream! He is now at my feet sleeping like a baby, has not vomited now for going on 7 hours. He still isn't drinking any water, but we have been letting him have one of his favorite things, ice chips! Whatever it takes to make sure he doesn't dehydrate.

I'll post an update tomorrow as well, letting everyone know how Chance is doing and what I have been doing for him.

Thanks for the love and support!

Elaine
