Ingredients for canned Canine Caviar 'gourmet':

Turkey:

Ground Turkey, Water Sufficient for Processing.

Duck:

Ground Duck, Water Sufficient for Processing.

Beaver:

Ground Beaver, Water Sufficient for Processing.

Venison Tripe:

Ground Venison Tripe, Water Sufficient for Processing.

And that's it. No preservatives, fillers, or additives. A can a day for every 60 lbs of body weight (although it sounds to little to me) Found it at a pet store today for about $2.80 for a 13.7 oz can. (seems cheaper to just buy some turkey down at the suppermarket) They also have frozen whole ground beaver and whole ground turkey.
First time I ever found a dog food that had beaver in it!! They're dry food is pretty good too. It's suppose to be a 'holistic' food.

But what I'm really curious about is their 1.5 lbs buckets of sun dried kelp. Kelp? Never heard of that being used in a dog's diet! Is it just something to add if you're only feeding your dog an only meat diet? Obviously you have to add some kind of source of vitamins and minerals if you buy their canned food. What's so great about kelp, or is there nothing really all that good about it?

Here's their site if anyone's interested:

I think the kelp is mostly for people that prepare their own food and is for supplementing iodine.  I've always heard that a good dog food will contain enough iodine, and that you shouldn't add more or thyroid problems could result.  That's why I've heard bad things about other products to supplement dogs diets, like Missing Link, it adds more unneeded iodine to the diet.  It looks like the canned food is for raw feeders too, or just to supplement your regular dog food with more protein.  It's not complete and balanced and shouldn't be fed exclusively.  I've considered using Evangers canned chicken to add to the dehydrated raw I feed for their evening meal.  I can get it cheaper from petfooddirect.com than I can locally.
